Pros: Good location walking distance to Bario Alto and right near a metro stop. Seculded private detached studio style house in private garden behind main rear house. Cons: 1) Cleanliness:Unacceptable linens - cigarette hole burns in bed sheet. Stained pillows. Only 2 pillows with cases on bed. No pillow cases for additional pillows. Dirty blinds. Mildew and cobwebs in bathroom. 2) When we met the host to check in, we were told we were being charged an additional 30 euro for checking in after 8pm, which she initially asked for in cash.

Great and charming place that surpassed all expectations. I even offered to buy the place with no success! Would stay again in a heart beat and totally intend to. Maria was gracious and very forthcoming with tips and hints. Can definitely recommend her tour which was the best I've ever been on!

If you wanna stay in the city center and still have your personal magical garden - that's the place for you) The only issue for was that there was just a spot light in the bathroom, so it was quite difficult to do your makeup especially in the evening)) But waking up in the morning with a birds singing and have your breakfast outside in the garden is just magical)

Right from the gate you get a sense that this is a special place. The lemon tree in the garden, the beautiful flowers, the unique lay out of the apartment; you're in for a unique experience. The kitchen could use a little bit of TLC, though - so make sure to ask for some instructions on how to use the stove. Over-all Maria was very helpful and gave excellent tips on how to get around Lisboa. Thank you for your kindness Maria. Take care. Love and blessings ^_^ E.

And because I believe that I live in the best city outside of South America, it is my great privilege and honor, to give my guests a unique and unforgettable experience, than it is to live in one of the most typical and ancient neighborhoods of Lisbon, like Alfama

I was born and raised in Lisbon, it is my passion. Come and discover this city, the secret villages, like Afama, inhabited by real and authentic, in alleys and streets where one can listen to fado flavored sardines.
