Peter came to Raleigh from Ontario, Canada in 1988 and started his career as a professor of Nutrition in the Prestage Department of Poultry Science at North Carolina State University. When he is not teaching and leading research projects at home, he travels the world giving lectures and consulting with food companies. Peter’s passions include spending time with his wife and family, experiencing different places and cultures, reading and learning new things, science and nature, snorkeling and scuba diving, bike riding, and mentoring young adults.
Not long after he arrived in Raleigh, Peter met and later married Debbie, a lovely and true “Southern Bell”. Debbie is a native of Raleigh, and she knows all the good places to visit, shop, and eat. She is definitely the most colorful and social one in the household. Debbie is an interior designer and loves to play house and entertain. Her passions include her husband, family and friends. She loves volunteering her time and talents at her church community, cooking, fashion, art, antiques, vacationing, beach resorts, and most of all, her favorite place to stay is St. Thomas, USVI.
We have made many good friends of different cultures from all over the world, and we enjoy meeting new people. We have hosted many guests in our home. We welcome you to stay with us, and we will treat you as part of our family and make you feel right at home.
