Where you’ll be

Mouresi, Thessalia Sterea Ellada, Greece

So much to do and see on the magical mountain of Pelion. Mouresi is a small village located on the north east side of the mountain 350 metres above sea level.

There is a network of old cobbled mule tracks that will take you through some verdant forests leading you to hidden waterfalls and to the local beaches of Papa Nero and Damouchari ( of Mama Mia fame).
The beaches are approximately 4.5 kilometres by road. Walking maps are available and guided walks can be booked with your host Jill by arrangement.

Your host leads walking groups and has a wealth of knowledge regarding the paths and surrounding area. There is also kayaking available at Damouchari, horse-riding at Paradissios Hotel and a Pilates class to join if one is staying for a few days. In Tsangarada a near by village there is an unusual organic garden to visit (by appointment only).

I am English and I first fell in love with the lush Pelion Peninsular about 35 years ago. I have lived in Mouresi for 30 years. I am very familiar with the Greek customs, food, mule-tracks and building procedures in old properties. I am helping a friend host her property Persifoni's view as she has not done this before aswell as managing my own. I describe this area as the magic mountain, the nature is powerful, inspirational and healing. I can give excellent information on Pelion, the best places to visit (all are beautiful) but some more beautiful than others. Also I have information on the local activities in the area. In Damouchari harbour( of Mama Mia fame) there is kayaking and paddle board. Or join our local Pilates class in Tsgarada (the next village). I lead guided walks or have maps available for those who like to self guide. I have a very silly sense of humour once in the mood. With friends we have just made a video of our version of "Dancing queen" at Damouchari. In the very hot weather a friend and I made use of all the mulberries dropping from the trees and made delicious ice-lollies and then tested them out on my friends. Always ready for some fun if time allows. I can also provide a lot of information about some other destinations in Greece. My choice of food is healthy I am a vegetarian, love salads and the local fruit. I love animals but because I have my own on the premises I cannot accept dogs.
