Interesting, healthy & fun place to stay. Huge lounge, kitchen & rooms and heaps of places inside & outside for cooking, eating & relaxing.
Your host is an interesting character, happy to socialise or give you space (often staying off-site), with lots of great eco & local knowledge...look forward to meeting you!

The space

This room is the warmest, light filled room - with great views. Curtains on the big window & sliding door that opens onto a huge balcony looking out over the garden & up to Gulaga Mountain. This room is accessed up spiral stairs from the kitchen (there is no door) but is adequately private. The other room we have listed (Rm1) is a lot larger, garden views, cooler and has locking doors.

We are at the foot of the special Gulaga Mountain, with spring water, organic food gardens, rural outlook, a range of room options (even whole house) with good internet-etc, bikes, surfboards, even windsurfers.

We love having interesting people from all over the world. We also love yoga, massage, all beach activities and dancing - and sharing & learning about all aspects of healthy & sustainable living.

DELUX PACKAGES AVAILABLE: We are happy to spoil people with a customised meals prepared, and extras like sauna and Hawaiian or remedial massage. From simple through to totally DELUX!

Guest access

Huge kitchen very well equiped and mega lounge areas with fire (room for yoga, exercise & dancing as you wish). Good ADSL2 internet access, unlimited downloads, big screen if needed, wifi to most parts of the house and outside sitting area.

Far-infrared sauna available $15 per person, including towels and robes. Massage $80/hr or $150 for 2 hour+ deluxe experience (Hawaiian style lomi lomi).

4 mountain bikes are available, with helmets, $15 per day.

Interaction with guests

As much or as little as you wish! I'm happy to even prepare shared meals together and certainly love a good glass of wine and conversation! If you really want to relax let me prepare an awesome meal with local organic produce for a very reasonable price.....Or happy to give you plenty of space which is easy in a place this big! I'm also out often and also in the garden a lot.

Other things to note

This is an old fashion converted building which is unusual in many ways and the grounds are also fairly organic. While there are no dangers, people wanting a motel-like experience with flat, no steps, beige & boring, should probably look elsewhere!

This is my home and I ask for you to take care, treat things with respect and leave shoes at the door please (or at least make sure they're clean before walking through the house). 'House shoes' are a wonderful thing!

'Leaving the place as it was' is appreciated, adjusting noise levels as required for the comfort of others that may be staying in the house, and practising 'common sense' is all that I ask, thanks!

We stayed for two nights while doing a course nearby. Andrew was very welcoming and made us feel at home. His home is very comfortable with amazing eclectic spaces, and the kitchen looks like it would be amazing to cook in. We are looking forward to visiting again and cooking up an Indian feast together. Thank you for the feijoas and the music, we had a lovely time.

On the positive side,it was a very quirky house. Bed was comfortable, and we enjoyed lookkng around at all sorts lf interesting stuff. Unfortunately however, the host is terrible at comminication and organisation. We turned up only to discover four people had made a booking already for the entire place. They were quite rightly very upset and angry. This was news to the friend Andrew left in charge. Then to make matters worse, another party of four turned up having had a booking confirmed as well. Thankfully things settled (it could have been a lot worse with less understanding people) though the last party to arrive had to sleep on couches. I checked the listing, the host has an entire home listing as well as private room listings. He obviously either forgot about the original booking or is otherwise just plain disorganised. Communication did not happen after an initial confirmation message about 10 days out. Multiple attempts were made to contact Andrew to obtain his friend's contact number and some directions. No response whatsoever. We arrived not knowing what to expect. I understand Andrew is often out of range or away doing things. My issue is that if you're going to manage airbnb listings, you find a way to stay in range at least once a day (or tell your stand in to do same) or you simply don't use the service. Andrew's friend who he left in charge was put in an awkward and embarassing situation. Based on our experience, all I can say is you'll be taking a gamble.

Response from Andrew:
Thanks for understanfding this situation was created primarily from a fault in the Airbnb system that I now discover allows instant bookings through even when the Whole House is booked. I did get confused, thinking their booking was just for Rm2, hence I accepted your booking. I should have double checked, but assumed the system was doing what I feel it should (major fault they should fix). Luckily this is the first time this has ever happened and certainly the last - I will also make sure that my "fill in host" mobile number is listed and introduce them before I'm out of range. Thanks for the advice and Ill take this onboard. Hope you still had a good stay and a successful time at the Festival.

If you like a really eclectic place with great winding spaces then this is the place for you. Full of really interesting things from around the place and very laid back. Handy location close to great beaches and to Gulaga if you're into a good climb - or Tilba if you want to explore craft shops.

A perfect place to relax and explore the amazing local area. Andrew is a charming, congenial, knowledgeable host. Lots of space, very comfortable, great kitchen and opportunity to meet other guests. We loved this place, best airbnb we have stayed in and we have stayed in some great places. Highly recommended!!

Very friendly host, very quiet spot, nor far from Bermagui... 10 min drive, suit alternative lifestyle clients, no tv so good for meditation and silence, great toys for small kids, just needs a light in the end bathroom and some flyscreens. Would stay there again :)

If you are on a holiday pilgrimage, or simply enjoy a more creative soulful experience, Andrew's warm welcome and unique home is for you! Our room was small, yet clean and comfy with nice quality linen which we appreciated. We stayed two nights and enjoyed the company of a few of Andrew's friends who were also passing through on holidays with their tween children, which was great as my 12 year old daughter enjoyed herself too. The house is filled with the things that make up a creative spiritual and generally healthy life and there is plenty to see in the garden which is packed with ranging herbs, fruit trees and ginger lilies. We definitely will be back!

Andrew was very warm and welcoming when we arrived. He showed us around his unique accomodation...a former cheese factory. We really enjoyed speaking late into the evening with Andrew and the other couple who was staying in his other room. This made for a very memorable stay.

I'm a passionate creator of Healthy & Sustainable living - working as a Eco-Consultant, with a business operating from the large 1925 Cheese Factory that is also my home. We are working towards the property being a commercial hub with multiple businesses, demonstrating the best of sustainably land use, collaborative business practice - food production, value adding/cafe, bakery & micro brewery. Meanwhile, there is heaps of room options for happy travelers (and investors). It is a buzz of great food, yoga, beaching and we really enjoy introducing people to the natural beauty that abounds. We look forward to hearing from you.
