You are a 15-min walk to the 1st district of Vienna!– and the most beautiful area of the center at that! -- the side with the Staatsoper, Burggarten, Kunst- and Naturhistorisches Museums, and Heldenplatz.
Lovely wood stove for ambience and warmth (in addition to installed electric radiators). Easy to use.
The main concert houses, the Musikverein and the Wiener Konzerthaus, the lovely Stadtpark, are walking distance or a 3-min ride on the U4 away, and the Museumsquartier is a 15-min walk or short Ubahn ride away as well.
And you also in the hip 5th district! The Naschmarkt is right nearby, and an Art Nouveau architectural walk starts 30m from the apartment. See the map at bottom of this listing for great neighborhood finds – bars, restaurants, stores! I have also included my recommendations of the classic Vienna tourist activities.
All the usual amenities are on Pilgrimgasse, a 3-min walk away – grocery store, toiletries, bakeries, post office.
Fantastic local transportation hub – U4 subway, plus several buses are a 3-min walk from the apartment.
In addition there are Citybike stations nearby at both Ubahn stations – where you can borrow 3-speed bikes for free (after setting up an account online) to ride on Vienna's excellent bike path system to your sightseeing destinations, which ALL have stations where you can leave the bike, and then borrow again to go to your next destination, without spending a penny.
You will enjoy the newly-renovated 40m2 apartment, which has a separate well-equipped kitchen, and a separate small (see photo) cozy bedroom (bed 140cmx200) with a window onto a small "lichthof" or airshaft, and a 25m2 living room. The apartment has been lovingly decorated with a combination of modern and retro-chic furniture from the 50's and 60's.
Your group of 3 or 4 people will have privacy because there is a door between the 2 sleeping rooms. Both of these rooms have ceiling fans. It is peaceful and quiet in the bedroom. The high-quality sofa bed in the living room is brand new and is a pullout that feels like a real bed (150cmx200). The bedroom has a door so 2 couples can stay and have privacy during the night, as both sleeping rooms access the bathroom without going through the other room.
You can have a 3rd bed (single futon with extra padding on the floor that can be rolled up and tucked away behind sofa during the day, quite comfortable) at 5€ per night (after 3rd night no charge, i.e. 15€ max), if one of your group prefers having personal space to sharing a regular bed.
Two luggage racks provided, in case you prefer living out of your suitcase to using the wardrobe, shelves, drawers and hooks available for your clothes.
The apt is slightly higher than ground floor, therefore cozily dim but with pleasant indoor lighting options, and in afternoon there is lovely direct light from the unobstructed sunset in the west, as in our main picture. The plus is it is cool in summer, with a beautiful large window (200+cm wide, 185 tall) that opens like 2 doors.
You can open the windows for excellent cross-ventilation through the apartment making it airy. The neighbourhood is extremely safe but nevertheless for feeling secure a grate has been installed on the window, the upper half of which opens and closes with a key provided.
The street (which the apt window faces) is intermittently busy with car traffic, and the living room, where the sofa bed is, is a bit loud with the window open but not unpleasantly so, and distinctly quieter with the high-quality windows closed. Light sleepers would prefer the bedroom.
The kitchen is brand new and as well-outfitted as if it was someone's permanent home -- oven, stove, microwave, fridge, blender, kettle, coffee maker, salad spinner, etc, these plus the washing machine make the apartment ideal if you are staying longer than a few days. We keep coffee, tea (black and an herbal), olive oil, vinegar, milk, butter, etc in stock for you so you don't have to waste money or time buying those sorts of supplies.
If you have come by car, there is a nearby indoor parking option at Museumsquartier is walking distance and 6€ per day. If you are staying longer, the cheaper option is Park and Ride, 3.40€ per day, 17€ per week at Spittelau U4 stop 12-min subway ride away.
Chief advantages of this apartment: location; charm; comfort; kitchen -- close to the centre of Vienna; subway and buses very nearby, all amenities nearby, accommodates 4 people
Drawbacks: on a lower floor and only gets direct light in the late afternoon (but you do have nice view of the western sky and park across the street); window faces the street so it can be loud with the traffic when window open (there is much less traffic at night, and much quieter with the windows closed.)
The entire apartment is available for your private use. Entrance at the front of the building 5 or 6 steps up, apartment is immediately on your left.
Interaction with guests
We live right by Museumsquartier and a short bike ride away, and available for any support you need. We are happy to make recommendations for sightseeing, restaurants, clubs etc if you want. Once in a while we may be out of town but we will let you know that and have a friend (another airbnb host) available to help if need be! We enjoy meeting our guests who come from all over the world!
Other things to note
We do ask for quiet enjoyment of the apartment and no smoking.
There is a city tax we are required to charge you and then pay to the city of Vienna, 3.2% x the fee (minus commissions). We will send you an invoice in advance, and this is collected at check in.
Regarding check-in and -out: We live nearby and are happy to work with guests regarding their check-in and -out time, contingent on scheduling the cleaners, and of course, the needs of the preceding and following guests. The guideline is 11am checkout, and 2pm checkout BUT we will try to work with you if we can if you want to come earlier or stay later. YOU can help us accommodate other guests by letting us know your arrival and departure times as soon as you know; this is much appreciated.
NOTE: There are luggage lockers at the airport, Wien Mitte, Hauptbahnhof and Westbahnhof.
Please let us know your arrival time and details (such as Airline and flight number) as soon as you can.
Checking in and out
- We aim to accommodate and can generally be flexible about later check-in time (by arrangement), and can sometimes accommodate early check-in where you drop luggage at apt, get the keys and then go out sightseeing so cleaner can clean and give you full access at normal 2pm checkin time
-- after you book, please let us know as soon as you can about your timing, for arrival, including flight info if applicable, and also your departure time, so we can plan our schedules to accommodate you, as well as accommodate the guests who precede and follow you!
-- we just ask for updated text communication regarding delays and change of plans as arrival time approaches, and a txt from you when you are leaving Vienna airport or train station etc to come to the apt is greatly appreciated
-- we have (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN), viber, and of course the airbnb app on our iPhones
- Attention to energy saving is very much appreciated.
- Quiet consideration of neighbors, it is a residential building
- absolutely no smoking, deposit will be held
- Please do not lose the keys -- they cost 100€ per set of 2 to replace (really!) and we would have to take it out of your deposit
- Pets allowed only on case-by-case basis, please inquire. Extra charge of up to 10€ per day
- !!! CITY TAX !!!
Please be informed that the regulations for the city charges in Vienna have changed and therefore we are obliged by law to collect a city tax from the 1st of May 2016 from our guests.
We will need to charge 3.2% of your accommodation costs including the cleaning fee. Unfortunately the tax cannot be collected directly over Airbnb and therefore needs to be paid at the check-in in cash.
You will receive an invoice from me for the city tax via email and a hard copy at the check-in. We know that this whole procedure is a bit inconvenient, however we are required by law to proceed this way. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
Cancel up to 5 days before your trip and get a full refund. Cancel within 5 days of your trip and the first night is non-refundable, but 50% of the cost for the remaining nights will be refunded.

I am new to hosting but have been an airbnb guest many times (please see my reviews.) I am looking forward to meeting people via hosting, and being available to help them enjoy this beautiful city.
My motto in life is the same one I take onstage with me: "My main job here is to love and accept myself, and in so demonstrating, to inspire others to do the same." As a performance coach, I love helping people reach this place in themselves through getting up and singing in front of others.
