Our charming and much loved traditional house right in the heart of Alghero old town. Very recently renovated with a new bathroom and kitchen in a simple, rustic style. There are two large bedrooms, one with two single beds and one double (two singles pushed together). One bedroom has a balcony looking on to the street. The house is on three floors: its own front door leading up the stairs to bedroom one on the first floor, bedroom two and the bathroom on the second floor and the kitchen diner on the third floor. The kitchen leads directly onto a magnificent private terrace which has views over the old town and the cathedral. The terrace has sun loungers, a table for six to eat at and a barbeque. There is a washing machine in a store cupboard on the terrace. Please note that it is a characterful old house and you will need to mind your head on some low ceilings on the way up to the kitchen and on the height of some doorways!
The house is on a pedestrianized street so apart from the occasional delivery there are no cars or motorbikes. But please note that whilst there are no cars, you are right in the town and as such there’s a fair amount of general hubbub of the people going their way to and from restaurants and cafés. There’s a great number of fantastic places to eat that are moments away as are a great array of shops and boutiques.
The sea walls of the old town are a few minutes’ walk and the nearest beach is 15-20 minutes walk along the seafront. There is a fruit and veg market and a fish market about 2 minutes walk from the house.
There is a easy to use bus service from the airport which stops 2 minutes walk from the house, so there is no need for a car. There is also a very helpful tourist office 2 minutes from the house. Alghero Old Town really is a beautiful place and the gorgeous house is right in the heart of this charming Sardinian town.
This is our own home with our stuff in it! Please be respectful and look after it like you would your own.
I am in my 40's and married to Jessica. We have two children and live in Brighton, but try to be in Alghero as much as possible, but can't be there all the time so have decided to put the house on Airbnb. We have friends in Alghero, and a lovely couple Sylvia and Antonio will let you in to the house and show you around. I can speak a little Italian and French, but Jessica speaks both very well.
