About this listing
We wholeheartedly invite you to stay to at large and fully equipped apartment, settled on the vineyard-covered Lake Balaton hillside. Tranquility, nature, a large garden and beautiful panorama awaits you. Our place is close to the hills and forest, not far from the lake. There are restaurants nearby and shops not too far. Our place is good for couples, families (with kids), and furry friends (pets).
The flat is a cozy apartment on the ground floor of our house. It has it's own bathroom with a shower, one bedroom with a double bed, one with two single beds and living room with a sofa bed, that is suitable for either two children or an adult. In the same space along with the living room, there is a fully equipped kitchen. And the terrace with great view.
The flat is completely separated with direct access to the garden. Feel free to enjoy the garden, it's a perfect place to sunbath or relax.
You will have free access to the small outdoor swimming-pool in the garden of the organic guesthouse, ca. 500m away ran by David's parents, and may order organic buffet style breakfast there if you wish :)
Interaction with guests
The house is maintained by David's parents, who live and run a small organic guesthouse ca. 500m away. Feel free to ask them anytime if you need anything during your stay. Also if you need any tips on getting around or what to do while in the area, feel free to ask us before or even during your stay!
The house is settled on a hillside among small vineyards, just a few steps away from the woods of the Keszthely Hills. There is a beautiful panorama of the Lake Balaton from the garden. The lakeshore and the particularly child-friendly beach are just 2km away. But don't only plan on coming in the summer, Lake Balaton has a lot to offer in all seasons! The world famous Héviz thermallake is 11km away, the Keszthely hills offer a number of beautiful walking and cycling trails. The Lake Balaton bikeroute runs just 1 kilometer from the house. The historic town of Keszthely, the postvolcanic hills of the area, the old castle ruins, the flora and fauna of the Kis-Balaton Nature Reserve are all close by (just to only mention a few!). And the vineyards in the area offer a whole range of gastronomical treats!
The access to the house is through a small and steep but paved road, with the parking just in front of the house. The nearest busstop (with local buses) is about 220 meters away at the bottom of the hill, while long distance buses stop about 500 meters far. The nearest trainstation is 1.6 km, while the international Héviz-Balaton Airport is ca. 20km away. Let us know of your travelplans beforehand, and we will gladly help you with getting around!
Bicycle rentals: just search for "bicycle rental Gyenesdias" on the web and you will find many options. Once you are here, we can show you which one is closest to us.

We are a travel-loving family from the beautiful Lake Balaton. Besides getting around and meeting new and interesting people, we (Kata&David) love trekking in the mountains, trailrunning, cycling, skitouring and while Kata loves sailing, David is an avid teamsports player :) While Aniko&Bela (David's parents) love to cook and experiment around with "not everyday" ingredients. We are also interested in anything that makes our lives more ecofriendly, from organic gardening to straw-bale houses.
You will always find Aniko and Bela around, while we, David and Kata work in Budapest, spending only some of the weekends at home.
May we be anywhere but our hearts belong to the Lake and we would love to show its nature, hospitality and beauty to you!
