About this listing
Perfect place to escape the hustle of life! Water views from all rooms inside; outside, a covered patio space, and stone walk down to the river. A great location for couples, photographers, writers, business travelers, nature lovers. Easy access to I-91. Bicycles, Kayaks, and SUP board provided.
While this space is perfect for anyone who wants a get-away--a place to relax, meditate, go fishing, write, listen to birds or the chance to see a bald eagle--the unique attraction and outstanding quality here is the river. There is a gentle walk-down path to an outdoor fireplace and to the water from your patio.
Inside is a studio-style main room. The kitchen area has a full-size refrigerator, microwave, Keurig, hot plates, pots/pans/dishes, toaster, and convection oven. Pantry and fridge are stocked with all the basics and much more. A multi-purpose table with two chairs allows you to eat inside and watch the river, or use it as a work space/desk.
View tv or the flicker of flames from an electric fireplace from the soft micro suede couch. The HDTV is a 45" flat screen with cable (including espn), netflix, DVD player. DVDs, games, books, and puzzles available. Phone provided for domestic calls.
The bedroom has a view of the river, too, and a queen-sized bed, ample closet/hanging space, and a bureau. For additional sleeping in the main room, there's a chaise style couch (31x71) that converts to a twin-sized bed. A self-inflating twin mattress can be used for a fourth person.
The bathroom includes a tiled rain shower. Around the corner is a washer and dryer, iron and ironing board.
Radiant floor heating through-out the apartment, and it stays nice and cool in the summers. Bedroom is air-conditioned in the summer. Modern ventilation system throughout home keeps air clean and fresh.
The apartment is on the lower level of the house, and has it's own keyed entry door facing the river. Your privacy is important (We live above in the upper levels and access the house from the road side.) You have your own patio space and "back yard." Feel free to come and go as you please.

Most likely, we will be around when you are and available for questions, concerns, assistance. Some people enjoy socializing, others like autonomy, and we take our cues from you! Most importantly, we want you to feel like the place/space is yours.
Check-in time is flexible as long as you don't mind letting yourself in. We can make arrangements that work best for you.
On occasion, we may not be on site during check-in or the duration of your stay, and will provide instruction ahead of time. I'm always available via text or call for any questions or concerns you might have.
The Odyssey is on state-maintained route 5, Connecticut River Road, which is home to several small organic vegetable farms and farm stands, a few dairy cows, maple syrup producers, a Christmas tree farm, and mostly year-round inhabitants. This 10-mile stretch of road connects the towns of Windsor, Weathersfield, and Springfield.
Within 10 minutes is a small grocery store, several local restaurants, bike trails, Mount Ascutney. Okemo, Dartmouth/Hanover is 35 minutes away.
Amtrak station in Windsor, VT about 7 miles away. Airport in Lebanon, NH, with car rental available. It would take some coordination around schedules, but reach out if you are interested in coming via public transportation versus car. I may be able to be your Uber driver.

I grew up in Virginia, moved to Massachusetts for college, and have been in New England ever since. Vermont is by far my favorite place to live and experience the unique beauty of each season.
After years of enjoying home-sharing as a guest, it's been delightful to open up my place as a host. I live here with my partner and a myriad of wild, wonderful critters. We love all-things-water and sun. When we're not moseying down the river, we're on the ocean in Ogunquit or Provincetown.
