Take a break from your own four walls, and relax in nature. Nearby trails for walking and cycling. Water views from all rooms inside. Easy access to I-91. Private entry under a covered patio space which includes a grill and outdoor seating. Bikes, dock, kayaks, SUP and pedal boat available for use. Want extra room? add the hot tent and it’s river deck (see my other listenings).

The space
While this space is perfect for anyone who wants a get-away--a place to relax, meditate, go fishing, write, listen to birds or the chance to see a bald eagle--the unique attraction and outstanding quality here is the river, and myriad ways to enjoy it: grill and dine outside, enjoy a campfire, relax on the dock, take out a kayak or pedal boat, or bring your own boat (the launch is 5 miles south) and you can moor it here.

Inside is a studio-style main room. The kitchen area has a full-size refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, hot plates, pots/pans/dishes, and convection oven. Pantry and fridge are stocked with all the basics and much more. Continental breakfast items provided, or order off the house menu! A multi-purpose table with two chairs allows you to eat inside and watch the river, or use it as a work space/desk. The smart HDTV is a 43" flat screen surround sound, Blu-ray DVD player (Please bring your own cable/satellite, sling or streaming subscription information to access your favorite channels). DVDs, games, books, and puzzles available. Day bed is great for naps or an extra guest. Air mattress, either queen or twin, can be set up for a third bed.

The bedroom has a view of the river, too, a queen-sized bed, ample closet/hanging space. Birds are grand amusement in the morning. It is possible to camp here as well, so two can sleep inside, and two outside. Possibilities abound.

The bathroom includes a tiled rain shower, multi-purpose sink (it's your kitchen sink and bathroom sink), and linens/soaps you may need.

Radiant floor heating through-out the apartment, and it stays nice and cool in the summers. Bedroom is air-conditioned in the summer. Modern ventilation system throughout home keeps air clean and fresh.

Where you’ll be

Springfield, Vermont, United States

The Odyssey is on state-maintained route 5, Connecticut River Road, which is home to several small organic vegetable farms and farm stands, a few dairy cows, maple syrup producers, a Christmas tree farm. This 10-mile stretch of road connects the towns of Windsor, Weathersfield, and Springfield.

Within 10 minutes is a small grocery store (Ralph's in Charlestown), several local restaurants, bike trails, hiking opportunities at Mount Ascutney.

Okemo, Dartmouth/Hanover/Norwich are 35 minutes away.

I grew up in Virginia, moved to Massachusetts for college, and have been in New England ever since. Vermont is by far my favorite place to live and experience the unique beauty of each season. I live here with a myriad of wild, wonderful critters (except the whistle pig/ground hog who grazes on everything except grass), and a concierge cat named Beck. I love all-things-water, sun, and stone, so if not moseying down the river, I head to the ocean when there is a moment to spare. The Odyssey is a great retreat from the fast-paced digital world, and an opportunity to sit back and relax. And the food here is pretty good, too :-)
