Amalfi, Campania, Italy

"The Day of Judgment for the Amalfians going to Paradise will be one day like everyone else" (Fucini).
Amalfi is a land paradise. Colorful panoramas with precious shades of color that from the sea return to the rocks. A legend tells us that his name comes from the Amphibian nymph, loved by Ercole. The hero, after his death, burial him in the place he considered the most beautiful in the world and from which the pearl of the coast was born.
Historically, the city of Amalfi is named after its founders, Roman settlers from the village of Melphi.
During the Byzantine period it became the first Marinara Republic Its history of the Marinara Republic is renewed every year, from June to August, with the Historical Regatta. The race is a race between galleons rebuilt on twelfth century models that resemble the colors of the Maritime Republics (Venice, Pisa, Genoa, Amalfi). Of its ancient naval republic, it also remembers the Tabula Amalphitana, a maritime trade code in force in the Mediterranean until the sixteenth century. In Amalfi you can visit and admire: The cathedral, whose construction dates back to 987 and in 1700, has been transformed into a baroque style, the cloister of paradise just next to the Duomo dating back to 1200 with frescoes of Giotto's school Romanesque-Arabic style, the museum of the Church of the "Crucifix" a large complex whose construction dates back to the 9th century where you can admire the "Treasure of the Church", in the end there is the museum of the 1300's paper.
Amalfi is not just history and art. It is also a landscaping masterpiece, a pearl that drifts into the glow of the sun setting off the sea, while the bushy hedge hedges, covered by the characteristic reddish-red flowers, meet on the ground. Pearl of the Mediterranean, a mirror of ancient millennial history, unique in its natural beauty, Amalfi certainly charms the heart. Those who are fortunate enough to visit it on June 27 and November 30 also have the opportunity to participate happily, together with the community, at the feast dedicated to the patron saint Andrea, fisherman's patron.
