This space includes 3 bedrooms, one full bath. There is NO kitchen, NO shared spaces. We do have a microwave, mini fridge and a Kureg in one of the bedrooms. The entrance is totally private as are all of the bedrooms and bath. The home is a beautiful 1862 Sea Captains home, walk to town or maybe relax and enjoy our large yard with spacious deck and fire pit. Centrally located in the heart of Maine's Midcoast. From here you can visit Acadia National Park and the many quaint nearby communities.

The space
Entrance is private, no kitchen and no shared spaces. Quiet in town. Beautiful landscape. Your accomidations include, 3 bedrooms. 1 king bed, 1 queen bed, 1 twin bed and 1 full bath. Sleeps five. The home is tastefully decorated with period furnishings and local artwork. Make sure you check out the BBQ SHACK on the far side of the yard, pretty cool. The deck and fire pit are available for your use anytime you like .
If you get up early enough you can watch the lobster fisherman leaving the beautiful Belfast Harbor. Seals are often in view from the docks. Ospreys and bald eagles dine from the waters of the bay. Ten minutes from here nearby Sears Island is a great place to collect mussels and clams for dinner. Several nearby ponds and lakes are full of hungry bass, salmon and lake trout. Area streams are teaming with native Brook trout. Belfast has the new Harbor Walk that extends for a mile and a half along our beautiful harbor. There's also a new extension of the walk that goes for an additional two miles alongside the riverfront. There is a wonderful new dog park where your four pawed friends can run, play and meet new friends. So much to do, like us, you'll probably want to move here. This is truly the place where life is lived the way it should be.

Where you’ll be

Belfast, Maine, United States

Congress Street is lined with homes that were built by Sea Captains during the mid 1800's. Beautiful gardens decorate the yards. Many residents only occupy their homes during the summer months. The many shops lining the streets of downtown offer a variety of local art and crafts.

Stephanie is an RN in Education at the local hospital and I am retired and look after the home now. Our kids have moved on and it’s just the two of us. The house was built in 1862 by a local sea captain and is tastefully decorated to reflect the period. Walk to town or the local harbor. The Harbor Walk in town is awesome and offers many beautiful views of Belfast and our Harbor and now continues for more than 50 miles inland. Many shops and restaurants cater to whatever you desire. We moved here from Conyers, Georgia in 2006. The fishing in the local freshwater lakes is excellent. We have several local seafood places that offer great fare from lobster to mussels, Young’s Lobster Pound offers a magnificent view Our Town Belfast as you enjoy fresh caught lobster. There are many unique places to explore and learn about right here, please feel free to ask us where to go and what to do locally.

During your stay

We often have dinner with our guests on the deck, cooking lobsters over the fire pit or a steak on the grill. We moved here from the south and love hosting our guests.
