The bed (90cm x 200cm) has a new matress and a duvet & pillow. It's got a desk, a drawer closet & a wardrobe. I slept great in the room. The street the flat is on is nice and quiet. The location is well connected to the S1 line (train) which takes you to the centre & airport. Even though Ulla and I were both tired from long days, Ulla was nice enough to give me great tips about visiting the nearby Blankenese neighbourhood. And her dog is lovely!

Ulla' s home is very nice, surrounded by nature and close to S1 which takes you anywhere in Hamburg. Ulla is also very nice and has a super-cute dog.

Ulla is a great host! I really enjoyed my stay at her place, communication was great and she is very patient, especially when my flight was delayed and I could not reach her place at the agreed time. The place is as the pictures and very quiet- it is good for a getaway from busy life. I highly recommend!

Ulla was incredibly kind and welcoming. I felt much more like a family friend coming to visit. She showed me around, explained the photos on the walls, told me a bit about her horse she was going to go visit tomorrow, and gave me helpful transport directions, before going about her own business. The room was phenomenal: a huge chest of easily-rolling drawers, a desk, a solid-feeling bed, and the lightest, warmest, softest, snuggliest duvet I've ever slept under. She also made a lot of room for me in the bathroom. I guess it felt more like a hotel in some ways because the room was so quiet and the sheets and towels were new (versus being given someone's least favorite stuff to use). But I was also grateful to have Ulla there around the corner in the living room if I needed advice on my day tomorrow. And the breakfasts were beyond adequate. I guess I can sum up the feeling as: most AirBnb hosts try to give you the minimum amount for what you paid for, because they don't know you. Ulla tries to give you the right amount, because she treats you like she already knows you. Flexible check-in and check-out is a big plus. I had arrived on an overnight bus and was glad I could check in early and leave my things there. And in the morning I could sleep in as long as I wanted, and had a filling breakfast waiting for me. I just had to drop my key in the box at the end. As for the location, the train only comes every 20 minutes but I didn't find that a big problem because it's only morning and night. And a perk of living a little farther out is you get on first, so you're guaranteed a seat. But above all, what proved that Ulla is a Host-Extraordinaire was her reaction to a crisis: when I missed my bus out of town, I called her at 23:00, waking her up, to ask if I could come back for another night, and she stayed awake to let me in. I apologized for being last minute, but she raised her eyebrows in surprise, asking with a slight laugh, "Do you think I was going to just let you stay at the station all night? I'm just glad you could reach me; I forgot to turn my phone on silent." Instead of being the least bit annoyed, she was concerned about me. That's the mark of a good person. Good person, good accommodation, what more could you ask for?
