Description

The space

Ideal city location for exploring Bristol from the beautiful, peaceful and historic surroundings of Clifton.

First floor flat with wrought iron balcony in the archetypal clifton town house. Originally built as a bachelor residence back in the 1850s, with its original stairwell and floor to ceiling sash windows at the front.

Two double bedrooms. The spacious and sunny front bedroom has floor to ceiling sash windows opening up onto the balcony. The bedroom at the back, is more modern in feel, gets the lovely afternoon evening sun and is quiet without the noise of traffic, and looks out over the downstairs garden. There is also a tea & coffee station with kettle, mugs & provisions in the back bedroom, if you want to enjoy a cup of tea in bed.

I air bnb my flat, in its entirety during the peak summer months when I can house sit for friends in other parts of the city. It is cosy, well loved and quiet space - with pot plants that appreciate a water if you are booking for a longer stay. Its not a holiday place but my home, so the carpets and the sofa upholstery aren't perfect but what it does have is gorgeous windows, an enviable location and lots and lots of natural daylight and charm. Its a pet and smoke free house,

For those with high sensitivities - the back bedroom has laminate flooring and is kept dust free. It also has anti allergy duvet, pillows, mattress & pillow covers. I use natural non toxic cleaning products to minimise the toxic chemicals in the flat. **There's been water damage to the paint work in the corner of the back bedroom due to a slow leak from the flat above at the beginning of the year. The leak was stopped months ago and thankfully the area affected is mainly hidden down the side of the wardrobe. The room is clean and doesn't smell musty. Please contact me if you have any concerns - wanted to let those guests with asthma know as it may affect them. Am awaiting the insurance company to arrange for work to be completed to repaint and replaster a section of the wall.

There is one shared bathroom, a newly updated shower room kept clean and sparkling! The bathroom is just a few steps away from either bathroom so easy to get to if nature calls in the middle of the night.

Kitchen with electric hob and oven available for guests to use. Crockery, cutlery and pans provided - please leave the space with all dishes washed up and put away.

Guest access

You'll have access to the entire flat, the balcony is pretty to look at but the boards are weak so please don't sit or stand out there!

Interaction with guests

I'll be here to meet you when you arrive, show you around and answer questions. I'll also be able to be reached by phone, text and email while you're staying in the property.

The neighbourhood

Clifton is striking in the history, architecture and landmarks.
Walk across the Suspension Bridge, saunter through the alleys of Clifton Village, visit the zoo or botanical gardens, enjoy the wide open space of Clifton Downs.

Choice of mini supermarkets, health food shops, restaurants, cafes and bars galore just at the end of the road on Bristol's presitigious Whiteladies Rd.

If you enjoy being active - bring your running shoes and join the other runners on Clifton Downs just around the corner. Love getting out on 2 wheels cycle across the suspension bridge and explore the Festival Way cycle route, or hire a mountain bike and take to the tracks in Leigh Woods or Ashton Court. Beautifully restored Clifton Lido is worth splashing out on for full use of the facilities including sauna, steam room, outdoor heated pool and jacuzzi in unique hidden location.

Shops - want to pick up something to eat later or for breakfast?
Both Tesco Metro & Sainsbury Local - 3 minutes walk
Cook Gourmet Grocery Shop - (posh ready meals) end of the road.
Better Food Company & Wild Oats - 2 health food shops with deli counters and excellent supply of wholefoods and glutenfree supplies

Whiteladies Road is just at the end of the road, chock full of eateries to suit all palates and pockets.
The Spiny Lobster the best seafood restaurant in Bristol,River Cottage Canteen - local produce, Souk Kitchen - modern Middle Eastern
Aqua - Anglo Italian cuisine, The Ox - Steak restaurant in sumptious setting
Bosco - sourdough pizzas,

Or just off Whiteladies on Cotham Hill; Bravas - top notch tapas, book in advance for a table otherwise you can eat at the counter or Felafel King - go downstairs for their Moroccan dining room for the full experience and atmosphere, bargain prices, memorable setting

Bars and Pubs are dotted along whiteladies, depending on whether you fancy late night drinks in private cocktail bar, cosy fireside drink, or a lively bar to start the night off before heading into town.

Hannah's flat is lush, clean and cosy! My family and I enjoyed our stay a lot in Clifton, although we couldn't meet Hannah personally, she was really friendly and helpful. Totally recommend staying here!

No. I won't write in Spanish as my host does not speak Spanish. Hannah is a very comunicative host, prompt reply to any question. We found a tidy and clean HOME. Clear instructions were left for us. She went the extra mile to provide enough confort for all of us. Quiet area. Enough parking spaces. All and all, very pleased with Hannah.

Response from Hannah:
Thanks Rodrigo, firstly for reviewing me in English! I wouldn't have understood it at all otherwise. So glad you liked staying at mine, its always a big leap handing over the keys to your home, but I knew that it was in safe hands. And thank you for leaving it so beautifully clean and tidy, was much appreciated by my friend who did the cleaning on Sunday. Hannah x

Hannah was very friendly & accomodating especially given how much later we arrived due to traffic on route. Great location with a lovely cafe and organic restaurant nearby. Would stay again.

Response from Hannah:
Thanks LIzzie! it was so easy to arrange with you and the delay didn't actually cause me any issues as had plenty to do in the flat. As soon as I met your group I knew my flat was in safe hands.

Warm and easy going. I am tidy, respectful and independent.
I enjoy traveling and staying with locals makes the experience so much richer for me, I no longer feel like a tourist but that I'm exploring and getting to know an area in a way that you can't from a hostel or hotel.

I also really enjoy meeting new folk, while in my home town and seeing my home city through new eyes by being a host.

I love my bicycle, wearing colours which make me feel happy, being in nature, laughing and finding out new things.

Look forward to meeting you whether I'm at home or abroad!
