Weavers Cottage is in the lovely village of Bonsall on the edge of the Peak District National Park. Numerous walks begin in the village; it's great for cyclists, climbers and canoeists. Two great pubs and a village shop mean you never have to leave. Extensive hillside garden with outdoor seating and lots to explore. Numerous attractions nearby ranging from historic (Chatsworth Hall, Haddon Hall, Bakewell...) to fun and games for kids in Matlock Bath (Gullivers Kingdom, Heights of Abraham)

The space

It was indeed a "weavers cottage" and there are still two shallow "baths" the weavers used to dye the garments inside the house, one is a seat in the dining area, the other evident between the dining and living room.
The bathroom is quite special - steam sauna unit, with multiple shower options. Roll-top bath for luxury bathing. lots of interesting features throughout.

Guest access

The whole house minus two rooms (a small bedroom and a storeroom are locked to keep my stuff out of the way). the rest is all yours.

Interaction with guests

I have a great housekeeper in the village who takes care of the house and any emergencies.

This cottage is a lovely quirky place in a great location for walks and plenty of kid friendly stuff about. The place was neat and tidy and Jon was great at keeping in touch and answered any questions we had quickly.

This is a lovely quirky house in a great location for visiting Matlock, Chatsworth etc, Jon was very helpful and left us milk and other useful supplies which are sometimes not available e.g. Hand soap at all sinks. Off road parking was good in a small village. The weather was not great but we had a good short break.

This cottage is gorgeous. Very comfortable and family friendly. Nice to be able to stay in a lovely old building full of character. The village was very friendly and lots of beautiful areas around to explore.

A delightful comfortable and cosy cottage situated in the quiet village of Bonsall. The kitchen had all the mod cons you could think of including a blender for smoothies, plus a huge supply of kitchen utensils, together with lots of crockery and glasses etc. The bathroom, with an extra long bath was pure luxury, together with a state of the art walk-in shower. We thoroughly enjoyed our couple of days there.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this lovely cottage from which we explored the Peak District. The cottage was clean, comfortable, spacious and so full of character - we would certainly book again if we are in the area. Thank you Jon!

Jon's cottage is a total delight. Bursting at the seams with character and surprises! A great well equipped kitchen, an amazing bathroom with a large luxurious roll top bath, and a fantastic , large, jet type shower. A spacious galleried landing, loads of books and games for children and adults..... great bedrooms with large comfortable beds.....some interesting art work...and loads of quaint features. It is in a pretty village with a pub, a nice coffee shop and a really well stocked shop. Loads to do in the area. The photos really don't do this cottage justice - so glad we stayed here!
