My mom and I loved our stay at Cedar Crest during our weekend up for the Sheep and Wool festival in Rhinebeck. Paul and Gerry were excellent, attentive hosts and the room, which sits atop the stables, was very clean and comfortable. There's a shared kitchen and sitting room which we took advantage of and enjoyed skimming the many equestrian books while we had our coffee. This would be a very comfortable place for a longer stay. The location is remote and breathtakingly beautiful-- one of the highlights of our weekend was our morning walk around the property, visiting the horses in their paddocks and stables. The horses are beautiful and well-cared for and Sparky, the barn dog, is adorable. While I didn't have the opportunity to take a riding lesson this time, I hope to visit again soon. Would happily stay here again.

Jerry and her husband were so incredibly accommodating. The ranch is lovely, the horses are so beautiful and friendly- it was a great little city escape. Jerry called morning of arrival to ask what we would like to have in the communal kitchen for breakfast and provided really nice, healthy and tasty groceries for our stay. That was such a thoughtful touch. Additionally We arrived a pinch late on Saturday and they were totally gracious. They even went so far as to generously lend my husband a tie - he had forgotten his for the wedding we were attending. They warned us about the horse noise- it was so minimal and actually quite cute to hear them :) it was a cozy stay, and we will definitely return when in the area. Thanks to you all (animals included!!) Lauren and Alex

Gerry was very accommodating, allowing me to check in quite late (7pm). I was attending a race at the nearby Lime Rock Park and my stay was brief (merely an over night with an early departure). They upgraded me to a more spacious suite and everything was clean an cozy. I literally passed out on the bed after some dinner and awoke early the next morning to return to the racetrack. Overall, it was a wonderful experience. They warned of noise in the morning as the farm work starts early, but I wasn't bothered by it. The shared kitchen in the common are was nice to have. I put my water bottles in the freezer over night and had nice cold water the next day while back at the racetrack.

Response from Geraldine:
Hi Scott, Apologies about the WiFi problem and thank you for bringing it to our attention. We brought in an IT specialist and we discovered that the router had run out of IP addresses. This has now been fixed and the problem should not re-occur. For the benefit of future guests I can confirm that no password is needed. I'm sorry about the beetle (not a cockroach in case anyone is worried!) in the shower - it must have popped up between us cleaning the bathroom and your arrival. Geraldine

The stay was great. The location is in an equestrian center with dozens of horses and close to 60 acres of space where the horses walk around. The rooms are very nicely setup and everything is of high quality. Highly recommend this as my wife and I had a very nice time staying here. The hosts are super welcoming and accommodating and have a special property.
