This is a great apartment, spacious and clean, with comfortable beds, a good shower and a washing machine. It's conveniently situated on a side canal near St. Barnabas Sq about 0.9 mile away from St. Mark's Sq (easy 15 min walk, well, map or (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN)maps are a necessity) Lots of good restaurants around. The area is not noisy at night. Be careful though, there are lots of people with dogs in Venice and not all of them pick up after their pets as judiciously as we, the tourists, would have liked... :-)
Christine was very good arranging the pickup at the Ca Rezzonico station, as we arrived after 8pm. She also kindly let us use the storage room just outside of the apartment to store our bags on the checkout day, which gave us a few more pleasant hours to enjoy Venice!
A couple of practical things that the future travelers should keep in mind:
1) There are no anti-mosquito nets on the windows, but sleeping with closed windows and shutters in the summer heat and humidity is not a impossibility, as there's no central AC. We made the mistake of opening them wide during our first night and were literally eaten alive! That said, Christine DID leave some instructions on how to deal with the mosquitoes in her apartment's "welcome" package. Unfortunately we stupidly didn't bother reading them. But the second night was a LOT more comfortable when we followed them. Please be smarter than us!!
2) The apartment is HIGH, I think we're talking 6 high flights of stairs. We were fine with that, but older or sicker people especially with heavy bags may see things differently
3) if a strong wifi signal is important to you, you might be disappointed. In my case, it was OK for me to check my work email, but nowhere near good enough for the kids to play their tablet games, which was just was well :-)
All in all, a great apartment (if you follow the directions) and a great host!
