The space

Built at the end of the 19th century, it is part of the oldest traditional rural dwellings that formed the first urban nucleus of Valsequillo. Structure in "L", built with masonry of stone and mud, covered with French tile, in the 30's of the 20th Century was owned by D. Domingo Benítez. Later, in the 50 's it housed the oil and vinegar shop, and drinks and tapas run by Doña Dolores Henríquez Santana (Lolita Henriquez) where, in the evenings - several neighbors met to play the lottery and the deck.

We had a really nice stay in valsequillo and in the apartment. We liked that there was information material for hiking. The kitchen is small but useful and has even a microwave. All in all it was a really good choice for us!

We had a lovely stay at Paulas place. It is a nice and cosy place, easy to find and with good parking abilities close to the house. We didn't met Paula in person, but her sister and father and they were very friendly. Valsequillo is a nice little town, that is definitly not like all the usual tourist places around the Island, which we apreciated a lot. It is very nicely located and just a few steps from the house you have a nice view on some mountains and smaller villages around. We had some problems with the electricity, but the hosts came very soon and send a technician to fix it.

A great location in the pedestrian centre of Valsequillo. It is calm and quiet, and a great launch point for beautiful walks in the hills. The place was clean and spacious. Thank you.

If you want to experience an alternative face to Gran Canaria this is a great place to stay. The external house is characterful and in the heart of a lovely authentic village. We hit lucky with the Almond blossom festival - right outside our door! Bakery, bars etc in village and next door villages - all a million miles away from the resorts in what is a beautiful island.

This is a great little apartment in the centre of the village, off a pedestrian area, so it’s really central and easy to get to the bakery, restaurants and supermarket. The flat was really clean and fully equipped with everything we needed for our couple of night’s stay. There was no wifi but that was actually really nice! ;-) There was parking next to the flat in the pedestrian area, but also plenty of parking in the streets nearby. This is probably one of the best ratio price/quality airbnbs we have found. Paula was a very accommodating host, who left us a lovely fruit basket with local produce.

The apartment is very nice and cozy. It is in a small pedestrian street and quiet. The apartment had everything we needed to cook and have a nice stay. Valsequillo is a nice little place to live but I'd recommend to have to rental car to get around. We had some nice hiking trips in the mountains near the village. Near the apartment there is a supermarket to get everything you need. There is only one contra point for the apartment: There is no WiFi, so we couldn't look up anything when starting a trip around the island. When Paula will provide the apartment with WiFi it is perfect for a couple looking for some days off the daily troubles of the world.
