Hill Grove House is in a Colonial hill station that was established by the British Raj in 1942. It is 77 km from Shimla and 65 km from Chandigarh. The nearest train station is Kalka railway station that is about 45 mins from the Villa. You’ll love the villa because of the light, the comfy bed, the coziness, and the high ceilings. The villa is good for couples, solo adventurers, holiday makers and families looking for a rejuvenating break with fresh air and stunning Himalayan views.

There are a lot of caveats with this place that one should know about. 3rd bedroom is downstairs, next to kitchen and doesnt have a bed, only mattresses on floor. House is about 500 metre walk from the parking and is so narrow that two people can't walk simultaneously. Can be slippery and risky in rains especially. The house smells of dampness, had a leaking roof, walls/carpet have gone bad due to wetness. Its mosquito ridden and not at all baby friendly.

The property is situated right on the edge of a hill, it overlooks the vast green valley below . The property is well maintained and has a old world charm to it. The host was quick to reply and helped us with all the arrangements. Would definitely recommend this property to anyone looking to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city!

We had a wonderful stay at Hill Grove House - such a lovely home with expansive views of the valley and distant hills. Priyanka was so helpful in arranging for our transport to and from the Kalka train station, as well as organizing some delicious vegetarian meals prepared by the caretaker’s wife. The house itself is perfectly situated on the hill-side, with excellent views from the two separate garden areas and sun-drenched balcony off the master bedroom. We spent most of our time in the upper level, enjoying the enormous master bedroom, strong wifi, and balcony. And the bathroom is one of the most special we’ve seen - full glass windows on three sides, yet private at the same time - simply beautiful. We look forward to going back for a longer stay next time to fully appreciate the house and the surroundings. Can fully recommend this quiet, peaceful escape in Kasauli.

Wonderful stay. Beautiful view of the mountains. Very helpful staff. Bit of a walk to get to the place but nothing too troublesome.
