Overall for the price is ok. Near to transport links 30 min away from Manhattan. In a cool area in Brooklyn plenty of coffee shops, bars and vintage clothing shops. If you wanna know the proper New York you have to stay in this place the neighborhood will show you how really NY is like. The apartment bathroom was quite dirty tho, not power in the shower (if you are a girl with long hair get ready to take shower as if you are under the rain, the soft rain I'm afraid) it makes almost impossible to wash the head and body properly. There is air aconditioner in the room, something that was really helpful due to the high temperatures in NY in July, but the AA/CC machine is too loud that you can not have it on very longer. Big room but quite empty, no drawers, no shelfs, no hooks, just 4 hangers in the closet so if you are staying a week or more you won't be available to remove your clothes from your suitcase. There is a window in the room in the ceiling, so not quite a view but the good thing is that you don't need alarm in the morning as soon as is the sunrise you will be awake because there is not blinds in the window. No key in the room, no washing machine in the house or laundry service (you have to go to the bassement of the apartment block to wash your clothes and help yourself with quarters, 25 cents of dollar, to do a laundry and to dry your clothes, prices: washing machine 2 $ and 1 dryer machine 2$, plus you have to buy your own soap for the laundry because ir's not provide to you either). It's a 3rd floor without elevator (so usual in NY) so if you have heavy luggage get ready to exercise. Overall for the price that we paid it wasn't too bad, if you want something cleaner or comfortable or in Manhattan you will have to pay much more, NY is very expensive. I hope all this info will be helpful for future travelers. By the way the host, Jay, was very flexible with the check in and check out hours and he even allow to keep all luggage in the apartment until quite late our last day until we came back to pick it up for the airport. Jay was very nice to us, so I recommend his place to anyone but I have to be honest and give a real information of the apartment status and facilities, it's something I would like to read if I'm a future guest. If you are looking for something affordable this is your place, good price and good location. Enjoy your visit!

A great week at Jay's place for me and my best friend. Close to subway stations and stores. Super close to lots of hip coffee shops and the Bushwick Collective. Jay's apartment is nice and bright, the room has everything you really need and the skylight was a bonus on sunny days. :)

Really easy stay. Good communication and detailed information about how to check-in initially. Good location 2 minutes from metro station and 20ish minutes metro to central Manhattan/Times Square area.

Jay, was a friendly host. Had some good chats. His apartment is easy to find and the area is great for local eats, drinks & coffees etc. Travel into Manhattan is easy and quick with plenty of travel options a short walk away. Would definitely go back next time in NYC and would not hesitate to recommend. Thanx Jay.

Subway had some construction in this place, it requires some walk to rich the place because of this. Approximate time from the apartment to NY Penn Station is around 30 minutes.
