The home is over 120 years old and Historical. There is gas heating throughout the home, as it was converted from Coal heating in years past. There is NO central AC although we do have window 4 AC units that we place in some of the bedrooms for June-August. Most rooms also have a ceiling fan or stand-up fan as well. A lovely mountain breeze keeps the house nice and cool during most of the year.

Other things to note
- Weather, Roads, Train, Mountain allergens, and Cellular Reception.
-The town of Terra Alta accumulates some of the largest snowfall in the state. If there is a winter weather advisory, be very cautious.
- The home is right off of one of the main roads through town and there are two ways to get to the house from the main road. It is situated on a hill next to a white house which is next to the funeral home.
- There is a train nearby that does pass 1-3 times a day depending on the day and time of the year. Often train cars are carrying WV coal which is kind of neat.
- Dust. Due to the size of the home and it being in the mountains. Dust accumulates. We work hard to dust regularly but those with severe allergies to dust might find that mountains, environment, and home with all the wood work throughout, to be an issue.
- WiFI. May not function at times due to high winds or bad weather. Only 1 provider in rural town which means it may not be the best however we do pay monthly for WiFi service and when it works well, we can stream videos via netflix and Hulu and YouTube.
- Cell phone service. Depending on your provider, the region of Preston County has limited service due to the mountainous region. Some parts of the house might have better reception than others.
- Pets. May be welcomed with prior approval and if approved, subject to a non-refundable $100 pet fee per stay.
