We returned to John's charming home for another long weekend with our friends and it was wonderful as expected. The spacious home is tastefully planned with a well equipped kitchen, we did not lack anything, Highly recommended for a quiet getaway in the country. We will be back next year.

We enjoyed our stay. The house is perfectly situated for a relaxing vacation. We enjoyed the elbow room the house and yard gave us and relished the country location. I would highly recommend this house to others.

Amazing scenery and lovely secluded location! If you're looking for busy and hopping nightlife, seek other accommodation. But if you're looking for a peaceful, beautiful, and calm home to relax in...this is for you. From the horses grazing out your window to the sounds of crickets at night, John's home is perfect for a relaxing getaway. The kitchen and bathrooms are amazingly well stocked and we had everything we needed. Wifi worked perfectly and communication with John was excellent. The swimming holes and trail out back are great and you're centrally located to hike and sightsee...or just sit in the porch and relax. Enjoy! Also, we found St Albans nearby (about 45 mins) which is a lovely little city with great food and a cool atmosphere.

What a lovely home! I couldn't have had a nicer stay. John's home was clean, peaceful, comfortable, and had just about anything you could ever need. It was so thoroughly stocked and spacious, and full of comforts of home. Gorgeous views with easy access to Burlington, Stowe, and all the other amazing spots Vermont has to offer. On top of that, John couldn't have been nicer to work with - he was so easy to communicate with, even when a hurricane disrupted his power in Florida. Highly recommend!

Travelled with couple of toddlers and they had the best of times. The stairs were a little tricky for our youngest but that's any home with stairs. The hike down to the pond behind the house was more suited for little bit older kids but plenty of others in the area perfect for young toddlers. Beautiful scenery and breathtaking views. Had such wonderful time there. House was plenty stocked and internet/tv worked very well, a necessity when our cell coverage was non existent. Truly a special place for anyone looking for some calm from city life.

RARELY does one ever truly have their greatest expectations completely blown away; this non pareil PERFECT house & location was a heart-gladdening heaven that vacationers dreaaaaaaaaaam about! Hyperbole? Absolutely not. This is the paradigm of "home away from home." The voluptuous mountains of VT are an abiding vista, whether sitting at the table eating or reclining on the wrap-around porch. There is an abundance of privacy just off of a dirt road, about a mile from paved roadways. You are secluded and never need worry about anybody disturbing your paradise. The house itelf is truly, truly a HOME. You immediately feel that you are friends or family who is given the entire home while they are away on their vacation! There is everything that you would have in your house, from cooking-friendly full kitchen & pantry to comfortable living room with everything (including tv, cable, Netflix, Hulu, WiFi, landline phone, games, lots of outlets & places for devices, etc.); the bedrooms are inviting, the matresses probably as comfortable as yours, tons of blankets & pillows, a tv in the master bedroom, a guitar, games, etc.; and the bathrooms are clean, open, modern, BOTH have a shower, lots of towels, linens, etc. The basement is clean & organized and has a washer/dryer, wood for the fireplace, axes for cutting your own... well, you get the idea! THIS IS A HOME and it is a BEAUTIFULLY INVITING, clean, well-engineered, thoughtfully appointed & furnished, open, bright, great-energy, MEMORABLE home! Even the little things-- bug spray, extra fleeces, communal take something/leave something fully-stocked pantry, cleaning chemicals, hoses, brushes, galoshes... it is comprehensively MADE FOR COMFORT AND NO DETAIL HAS BEEN OVERLOOKED. Really. I know this sounds too good to be true but again: our expectations were an 8/10 and John's Vermont valhalla is at least an 11/10!! You'll never ever ever want to leave! It has the feng shui of pleasure & possibility, for couples or families. There are the incomparable colors & variety of Vermont's buccolic American farmland-- the seemingly endless procession of idyllic villages & towns, sparkling brooks, swaths of crops, fields of animals, meadows of flowers, etc.-- all nestled beneath the breathtaking crescendos of mountain-after-mountain. Less than an hour away is Lake Champlain & its expansive isles, shorelines, and wide open yawns of miles of water; also just off of the highway is exciting, artsy, restaurant-populated Burlington. It is impossible to communicate just how suffused with Northeastern beauty & vacation activity is this location. Bravo, John!!! You have a SPECIAL HOME which will be an abiding feature in so many people's lives & memories! Even our dog spent an exorbitant amount of time rubbing her back on the lawn, leaping about, romping in the rain, basking on the fastidiously manicured lawn in the sunshine. We cannot list nor manufacture enough superlatives to describe what a tremendous value this place is... tremendous! We cannot wait to experience the joy of being guests at your unrivaled HOME away from home! Thank you for...
