Our well equipped cottage has vines over the terrace and fresh herbs to pick There's a small pool and plenty of space to relax. The farm is close to Mediterranean, mountains and Ebre delta. Well placed to visit both Barcelona and Valencia.

The space

We are about 10 minutes from the Mediterranean coast. Our old stone built cottage is a stones throw from our farm house and has been completely renovated and refurbished. We are licensed with the Generalitat of Catalonia and can accommodate two comfortably and up to four people.
The cottage has a mezzanine bedroom with ladder-like stairs and wrought iron bannisters double bed. It has views over the farm and over to the Mediterranean. There's a sweet little kitchen with a gas hob and microwave, lovely local artisan dishes, glasses and tumblers and a large selection of pots and pans along traditional Spanish paella dish and tapas dishes. We provide complimentary olive oil from our farm and you can buy free range eggs and home made jam You will eat your meals inside or out under a canopy of vines.
Under the mezzanine is the sofa-bed to accommodate two more guests. There is also a cot available should you need one. There's log burner for winter nights which keeps the cottage cosy. There is a large bathroom with oodles of towels. Outside the casita we have converted the old "balsa" into a swimming pool for you to cool off in.
There is also a large petanca/boules/pétanque court available for you to use here on the farm.
We offer tapas and paella cooking lessons for couples by arrangement.

Guest access

There are seven acres for you to wander round, A small pool to cool off in, furnished terraces around the cottage, barbecue, and a picnic cool-box to use. The pool is shared.

Interaction with guests

We live on the farm and can help with as much or as little as you want, be it directions to the best beach or borrowing extra plates for a party! You can get involved with the work on the farm or get into the kitchen for some Mediterranean Cooking lessons too.

Other things to note

We are off the grid here; water and power are treated with respect. Our water comes from a bore hole and has been tested by a Pharmacy and is of a very high quality. It is pumped into a storage tank and is sometimes held for about a week. So we have put a water purifier in the cottage for you to use so that there is no need to buy any water whatsoever.
The electricity which works the lights and pumps etc comes from the solar power system. We are truly sun worshippers here. HUTTE 002393

There is a Welcome Pack which includes guidelines for looking after the finca and what we expect from our guests. Simple things like being careful to close gates behind you because of the dogs, being thoughtful about the use of electricity as this comes from directly from a solar power system and is a limited supply. Also being very careful with fire as olive trees burn very well.
We have another holiday home as well as ours here on the finca and ask that you respect the other visitors who are also here to enjoy the peace and quiet.

A fantastic stay with fantastic hosts. We loved the casita and Amanda and Simon were friendly and helpful throughout. Our 18 month old daughter had a great time playing with the dogs and feeding the chickens. It was a perfect and relaxing week away in the sunshine!

The Finca was exactly as described and was spotlessly clean in preparation for us. Simon and Amanda were helpful and friendly, great hosts. They have three extremely friendly dogs who love to come and hang out with you. The finca is situated in olive groves, a short drive from the coast and we spent a lovely day exploring the Delta and it's beaches, fabulous walks and wildlife. We stayed for a couple of nights on the way to Barcelona airport (an hour and 3/4 away) and was an ideal stopping off point.

Amanda and Simon and their three dogs were very welcoming hosts. Everything was as promised. The cottage was cosy and cute. We used their bikes to explore the local area and had a very enjoyable stay.

Amanda and Simon were very welcoming and helpful. Cute little house on working olive farm with dogs and hens and ducks as described. Therefore don't expect a peaceful lie-in. Good location for Parc Els Ports, lovely coastal walk between Ampolla and Ametlla del Mar, and the Ebre Delta (excellent bird watching, including flamingoes at time of year we were there), and though we didn't take advantage, useful to know Amanda will provide meals if required, which sounded delicious.

We had a relaxing time at Amanda and Simon's casita. The accommodation is comfortable and well equipped and I particularly enjoyed the rustic feel to the place. It is on their working olive and almond farm which is also home to chickens, three lovely dogs and a fluffy cat. He hosts are very friendly and helpful. They clearly take great pleasure in ensuring their guests have an enjoyable stay. Highly recommended .

Thanks so much to Amanda & Simon who are wonderful hosts! Amanda & Simon's love for the finca and the trees is evident and we very much enjoyed learning from them whilst spending time together (.. at our request, otherwise they faded discreetly into the background) and we would definitely return if we came back to the area. The accommodation was excellent and even the menagerie was well behaved and friendly.

What a delightful little gem this is. Simon and Amanda get it just right - welcoming, warm and informative while allowing guests a sense of seclusion. Our 8 and 6 year olds loved helping out on the farm - feeding the chickens, picking figs and watching over the friendly, sleepy dogs - and we welcomed the precious moments this allowed us to put our feet up and read a few pages of a book. Thank you both and we wish you and the gang (Boots gets a special mention!) deserved happiness in the future..... Rebecca, Laurie, Evie and Sam

Hello, I am Amanda and my husband is Simon. We live exactly half way between Barcelona and Valencia along the Mediterranean coast of Spain. We are ex-pats and enjoying the sunshine and space here in Catalonia. We both come from a hospitality and food background and so we know how to look after our guests. We are offering space on our Olive and Almond farm for people who want to see Spanish Spain and get some peace and quiet. We have dogs and chickens and make our own electricity and pump our own water. Drop in if you are passing and see what's happening this week.
