My apartment is on the second floor of a quiet building in the Bushwick neighborhood of Brooklyn, one block from the M train and about two blocks from the L train. This private bedroom has a comfortable queen-sized bed (sleeps two people). The dresser, closet, and clothing rack (with hangers) are all empty, so you can unpack and feel at home here. There are two large windows, one with fire escape access, overlooking the backyard. The building has secure electronic entry with a video camera.

The space

This bedroom is truly private. There is a standard door lock for privacy when you are in the bedroom. As you can see in the photos, the bedroom has plenty of storage, and plenty of space for relaxing.

Guest access

You are free to store food in the refrigerator, cook in the kitchen, eat or use your laptop at the table, and watch television (it's a smart TV with Netflix, Hulu, and Amazon Prime). Make yourself at home.

Interaction with guests

Feel free to ask me any questions when I'm home. If I'm not home, text or call me.

Other things to note

There is an electric water kettle and a coffee percolator; you can help yourself to coffee and tea. In the bathroom, feel free to use my hair dryer. (If you forget to pack other essentials, simply ask me.) You may smoke in the bedroom if you close the door and open the window (please ventilate the room, because I must air it out for the next guest).

Alicia's place is great. Really good location to explore Brooklyn and NYC from. L train is a few minutes walk from the house and fast into the city. Had a delicious mexican meal and pizza from restaurants nearby. Alicia was very friendly and helpful and responded really fast to all queries. I would definitely recommend Alicia's home.

Alicia's apt is in a great location, even though the subway station that is just around the corner is not working until September, but you can take a shuttle bus that will take you to the next station that is open, so is still easy. She is great, let us leave our stuffs in the apt until our flight, helped us when needed, and the bedroom is really cute as well the neighbor. The only down side is that my friend and I thought it was a little bit dirty, the floor under the bed and the bathroom. But other than that, loved our stay! :)

Response from Alicia:
Sorry! I actually swept and mopped just before your arrival. But the dust is a monster in these long apartments with wood floors, especially with windows left open for fresh air.

Alicia is a fantastic host. She ensures all of our needs are met. Shes great with kids. The room is very private and you basically have the whole apartment to yourself most of the time. We felt comfortable, at home, and like we were staying with a family member. The shower is amazing and the location is great. Easy train and bus access. Food and bars within walking distance

Very nice place. The room was big (for NYC standards). The bed was extremely comfortable. Easy access and very affordable. I recommend to anyone who is trying to save while visiting NYC.

Alicia's place was quite comfortable, and she was a terrific host. She thought of what I might need; for example, made sure I knew rain was coming one day and that I could take one of the spare umbrellas next to the door, but was not at all obtrusive. Close to the M train, and there are many stores, restaurants, coffee shops in the neighborhood. The room faces a back yard and is quite quiet. The queen-sized bed is very comfortable. I stayed for several days - was helping my son who lives nearby who had just had surgery, so I spent most of my time with him, then was able to come back to Alicia's each night for a shower and a great rest.

I enjoy wandering around aimlessly. I am almost 155 cm tall. My favorite color is green.
