RENOVATED! Large oceanfront house has spacious (20' x 14') 1st floor bedroom available w/ private entrance, deck and bathroom. Sleeps 3. Also available is 45' long master suite (separate listing). Enjoy breakfast, lunch & dinner oceanside. Large yard & huge patio w/ grill and outdoor furniture. Swim, kayak, fish, SUP from the Magnolia Pier directly in front of the house and sunbath or launch your boat at the beach next door. 3-min walk to restaurant, convenience store, coffee & a bar

The space

This large bedroom was once the ticket office for the steam ferry that ran between Gloucester and Boston. The house itself is one of the few remaining historic buildings in Magnolia, dating back to the mid 1800's. A long winter spent renovating has resulted in a historic gem with all the comforts of modernity.

Guest access

You have your own private entrance and private brand-new bathroom but have full use of the kitchen, gas grill, grilling tools, everything needed to make and eat food! There is also a washer and dryer.

Interaction with guests

I am around to answer questions and typically watch the sunset over the ocean either from the house or from the pier.

Other things to note

I have a hypoallergenic, extremely laid back, friendly dog named Zoe!

This was my first ABNB. Claire was a great host and the location is spectacular. Right by the water with a great setting. I would definitely recommend it.

It was a very nice stay. So much history to the house. Claire did a fantastic job restoring it! Excellent stay!

Wonderful location right on the water with a fishing/swimming pier right there. Claire was friendly and helpful. Only a short drive to Hammond castle and Half Moon beach in Gloucester.

Very laid back set up. Expect to meet other guests staying in the various sections of a charming New England home cobbled from early 20th C. fish houses. Claire and her husband busy themselves elsewhere, allowing guest access to fridge, grill, etc. Vintage photos of the area add to the historic feel of the former ticket office for the Gloucester to Boston steamer that was our room. Authentic Cape Ann experience. Highly recommended.

Great hospitality. We were at home from the moment we arrived. Claire and Damian are easy to be with. The view is fantastic and going to sleep in such a nice room with the surf was a real bonus. The view is everything the picture shows. We were there only one night and regret we couldn't stay longer.

I bought this house in Magnolia (a tiny village of Gloucester) in the summer of 2015. I love living directly on the ocean! It is fairly large (2800 sq. ft) and I rent out 2 or 3 of the 4 bedrooms.
