The Forge is a light and airy, detached country home located on the grounds of Hungerford Park just on the outskirts of the historic Market town of Hungerford in the heart of the North Wessex Downs of Outstanding Natural Beauty and is surrounded by beautiful countryside, the perfect position to explore the nearby Hungerford Common.

Relax with the whole family at this peaceful place to stay.

The space
The Forge is a detached house with a large enclosed garden, perfect for a dog and children with stunning views across the park. Downstairs you will find a kitchen diner, lounge room and toilet room. Upstairs comprises of one double bedroom and two single bedrooms and bathroom. There is a Free View TV in the lounge and Wi-Fi in the property.

Why not have a meal ready for you to just pop in the oven on your arrival. All meals are available for 2, 4, or 8 people. Please see additional photos for the menu options. One weeks notice is required but short notice orders maybe possible so please get in touch.

The lounge room and dining room has a cosy log burner for you to light on those cold winter evenings.

All bed linen is provided along with towels.

If required we can supply a travel cot and high chair on request.

Check in time is anytime after 3pm and checkout is before 10am. On occasion these times can be adjusted to meet your requirements.

Neighbourhood highlights

Hungerford is a pretty Canalside town famous for its antiques shops and upmarket boutiques where you can lose yourself for a delightful few hours. There is also a range of warm and friendly pubs, cheery tea rooms and restaurants to tempt you.

We are surrounded by stunning countryside walks. We are situated close to Newbury and Marlborough which also offer great restaurants and shopping.

Hungerford Market is on every Wednesday and Saturday mornings. There is also a monthly antiques fair in the Town Hall on the second Sunday of the month with free entry.

We are a 15 minute drive away from Newbury Racecourse so an ideal base for any race day.

From Hungerford you can walk along the pretty canal to Kintbury or further to Newbury, or maybe try the horse drawn barge with the Kennet Horse Boat Company.

Places worth visiting nearby:
Coombe Gibbet for stunning views and long walks.

Hungerford Common is a great open space for children and dogs.

Further afield is Windsor Castle or take the train from Hungerford for a daytrip to London.

For fishing enthusiasts we have the River Dun, River Kennet and Kennet and Avon Canal. If you would like to fish please get in touch with the Thatcham Angling Centre.
