Thanks for your thoughtful review and I take all your comments seriously - we want all our guests to have a good experience while staying at our rental homes.
The quietness of the resort is a main attraction and a car is really necessary to take full advantage of the amazing local landscape - we will be reinforcing this on our airbnb adverts in the future so that this is seen as a positive rather than a negative.
The wind was particularly strong during your visit which of course I cannot control but the prevailing wind is normally an attraction normally because it keeps temperatures at a very comfortable level for most guests - compared to further east along the Algarve where summer temperatures soar and the air is still. You did not report the rattling vent during your stay but we'll look at this - I'll contact you separately for more information on this.
We haven't until now provided welcome packs as a matter of course but I do agree that it would be a nice touch and is something we are considering for next season, especially for late arrivals. In most of our houses we do ensure that there is coffee, tea and condiments on arrival and the water here is perfectly drinkable from the tap.
Unfortunately I couldn't find my book with walking routes and I'm sorry for not reporting back to you on this. I've never had anyone ask for this information before but can see that in this wonderful area we should add this information as standard to the house book which is supplied to all guests.
I did come over to say hello during your stay and to find out if everything was OK, when we discussed the walking information, the missing parasol (which we immediately provided) and relocation of the parasol stand. I would normally only visit a guest personally once during any stay which I feel balances attention with privacy. I tell guests to contact me if anything is wrong during their stay because it is frustrating to find out afterwards when we cannot rectify any problems - we also sent the following message the day after you arrived.
