The flat is beautiful and in a great neighbourhood - minutes away from shops, restaurants, everything you need, and within walking distance of the city centre. Mel was great from start to finish with great communication.

Mel's place is exactly what we were hoping for. Checking in was super easy and the place had everything we needed. Her place is in a lovely neighborhood and the location is brilliant with lots of food options just down the road and the city centre a short walk away. I'd happily stay there again :)

Lovely house: clean, stylish, comfy, great bed, nice sheets and towels, powerful shower and fast internet. The area is great too; 10-15mins walk to the station and city centre, lots of good coffee and food at the end of the street. And Mel was a great host; straight forward and easy to communicate with. Will try to book again if back in York.

Ok, Mel's place is great. We spent seven days. The home is really homey. It is close to town but not too close, an easy walk. It is also far enough away you can stroll to the park or take a longer walk away from the City of York. The location is great, near markets, bars and restaurants (if you wish). The neighborhood feels quiet and safe. The best part is it is like the original Airbnb, someone's home not a corporate rental. Mel left a booklet on how everything worked. Where to go, what to do. What to do with trash (nobody cares until the third day), how to sort for recycling (yea), and how to easily check out. Mel's place is on two levels. Living and dining up front with kitchen and bath behind. A small paved patio out back. Use the handrails on the stairs, and the bedroom is on the second floor (also some space to put suitcases), and set up a drying rack out of the way. Very comfortable bed. What great place to call home in York, Thanks Mel!

A lovely house in a great location, both near the centre of York and with great shops nearby. Mel was very helpful and flexible with check-in arrangements.

Lovely house in a great area of York - close to the centre yet with its own identity as a friendly, welcoming neighbourhood. Mel couldn't have been more helpful with the arrangements, and the whole booking was incredibly easy from the outset. The house is warm, decorated in a beautifully uncluttered style and an ideal size for two on a romantic get-away. It felt very secure and private. Despite the obvious draw of York centre itself, don't miss the opportunity to frequent the local cafes, restaurants and bars too! They, and their patrons, are fab: I've never felt 'at home' so quickly on a short visit! All in all, a wonderful house, perfect for our long weekend. Thank you Mel - we'll definitely be back again!

Fantastic little place in York. My girlfriend and I had a lovely weekend away staying at Mel's house. The property is a little out of town (10 min walk) but it is very easily accessible - a short walk down the river was our preferred route. 'Bishy Road' was a great little street with a selection of places to have a good breakfast/brunch. I would highly recommend the truffle mushrooms at Robinsons. The house itself was quaint but just what you need for a short break and the bed was extremely comfortable. Mel - please let me know what mattress it is, my girlfriend has vouched to buy one! All in all, a nice little place.
