Diane's place was ideal for our stay in the cape. It is centrally located so we were able to do day trips to different towns in the cape. Her place is clean and she was always helpful and responsive. Thank you!

Diane was very welcoming and a great host. The location was so nice, right on the river with a lovely little outdoor area as well.

I was in town for a family event. The cottage was lovely and perfect and calming, a getaway that I hope to return very soon. Diane was a sweet host and made me feel welcome. I woke up early each day to explore- watched the sunrise down the street with a hot cup of coffee, and came across an old cemetery to explore the next morning. Ate breakfast at the Route 28 Diner, highly recommend it. Took the ferry out to Martha's Vineyard, enjoyed the day in Oak Bluffs. Plenty to keep you busy (or not).

Diane is very welcoming, and very responsive : we had an issue in the apartment and she acted upon our message in a very short delay. Very appreciated ! Very close to the beach. Very quiet neibourghood.

My fiancée and I had a lovely long weekend at Diane's place on the Cape. Diane was quick with suggestions on the sometimes tricky commute from Boston, and coordinated well with us upon check in and check out. The futon downstairs was comfortable, but perhaps on the small side for two people for more than a few nights. Location is fantastic, we were just on the right part of the Cape for our needs, and there we several beaches, shops, and activities nearby. Thanks for everything!

Not the best place to stay. Overall we were disappointed. The biggest issue was the smell. Upon entering the house the smell of mold and mildew hits you. Not sure if it has flooded previously or there is a lack of ventilation. The water marks going up the wall in the kitchen near the mirror make it seem like a previous flood. At any rate allergy issues in the home were less than pleasant. The cleanliness of the place wasnt the greatest. There were spiders and their homes living in most corners. The shower mat was upside down when we arrived and had mold on it. During the tour she opened the shower and said how spotless it was, my wife and I immediately looked at each other (URL HIDDEN) its not. So before I showered I went to turn the mat right side up an the shower curtain rod fell on my head, frustrating! At night we chose to sleep on the futon downstairs. She said we could push the two twin beds upstairs together to make a king, but that was unrealistic. We each just sat on the edge of the bed and it slid several inches across the floor. Not to mention it was hot upstairs and the curved, small, slippery staircase was a pain to navigate. We decided to take the pillows from upstairs to the futon downstairs. Upon putting my face on one it smelled like a dirty sweaty hat. I peaked in the pillowcase and it was brown, full of old drool and sweat. Luckily the other pillows weren't as bad. At night I put my glasses on the floor above my head nearest the kitchen as there are no end tables, in the morning clumps of dust clung to them. To charge my phone I plugged it in behind the futon, there is no outlet cover and the connection randomly would come in and out. Not sure that's code where I'm from. Other odd electrical situations include wiring in a vent above a closet and inability to use a hair dryer in the bathroom due to it overloading the breaker with the air conditioner on it. She claims it is on the river. Her quarters are, but guests aren't allowed to use it. There are white rocks which mark guest's area. You can get a small view when sitting in the sitting area on the side of the building. She claims there is a nice beach 5 minutes walk, but it's actually a 15 minute walk to a private, gated resort. She told us to just go because they don't check anyway. There is another beach which is quite rocky about a 20 minute walk. Overall the amenities and access is exaggerated. After the first day we considered cancelling the rest of the stay and going to a hotel. Wouldn't stay here again.

Response from Diane:
I am totally shocked by the review . The cottage is professionally cleaned . after every guess the rubber mats in the shower are washed in bleach , she must have turned them over as the girl that does the cleaning told me the suction side was on the bottom.. The linen is fresh . There are two large fluffy towels ,2 grey bath towels , 2 face cloths ! and a hand towel. There are lots of pillows extras that are brand new on the shelf with clean pillow cases . She took the one older pillow that was not one to sleep on that had a decorative sham on it .The "water " marks is where the door has been covered with ply wood as at one time, it opened into the laundry room .( befor Airbnb )The rocks are referred to are White Sea shells that are commonly used on the Cape ,there is also a decorative outside rug on the sea shell area . All of which are shown in the pictures .. As for not using the dock on the river ...there is a very exspensive 35 foot boat tied up and do not want the (URL HIDDEN) the end of the street there are expensive resorts ( they start at $350 a night ). With each guest I always tell them if there are any problems to just call me . I purposely leave my guests alone so that they have privacy .I can't fix something if I do not know about it. As for the smell ....there has never been a flood . We have no basements as the water table is so shallow . We have had cooler than normal weather and of course living on the water it can be damp ,but I did not smell (URL HIDDEN) for the outlet in the bathroom ,it had tripped when all was being used on that circuit . I have had an electrician in and when the season is over I am putting it on a separate breaker. There is a full length mirror next to it is an outlet . There are many outlets and why she would have to pick the one outlet that is up against the wall in back of the futon is unfortunate. I am glad that the cover being off has been brought to my attention. It must have been taken off when my electrician was checking everything out. My pictures totally represent the property the view of the river is shown from where the guests have their own private area.Again I feel badly as If they were unhappy I could have sent the maid in to Kill the spider or do what they needed done or canceled the rest and refunded them.I am very customer oriented as I am a traveler myself and no how important where one stays is to having a nice vacation.
