About this listing

Casa de las Rosas is nicely located one kilometer (6/10 of a mile) from the Plaza, the center of town. It's a flat easy 12 minute walk. Good beds, gorgeous kitchen, washer and dryer, and screens make it a fabulous place to live. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, business travelers, and furry friends (pets).

The space

Casa de las Rosas is air conditioned and set in a small orchard of mango trees. 2 bedrooms, 2 1/2 baths, with high-end designer touches throughout: custom double sofa, art glass sinks, "castle stone" (cemento polido) floors, granite and marble countertops, tall ceilings, brick cupola in the staircase, alabaster lights, palapas, front porch, back patio and two upstairs terraces, ceiling fans, and much more. It's homey and comfy with high end finishes. There is a stackable washer/dryer in its own little cupboard in the dining area. It's a cool, comfy, tropical haven.

The front yard area is walled in, creating a private garden. This house has been almost continuously rented long term. Usually we have one person or couple for high season, and a different person or couple for summer & fall.

People like to keep a table on the front porch, overlooking the garden. There's a ceiling fan there, too, under the palapa. It's a very friendly house.

Casa de las Rosas is 1Kilometer (.6 mile) from the plaza or beach - located one block off of Revolucion on the way into town from Hwy. 200. It's away from the noise of the plaza and the bars by the beach. To find it, if you are already in Sayulita, as you're leaving town on Revolucion toward Highway 200, turn at your first right after the carwash (on the right). It's straight ahead and yellowish/green.

Pets will be considered on an individual basis. There have been both dogs and cats in the house. We built this house and prefer our tenants to be on the quiet side with respect for our neighbors.

Internet. There is no phone line to the house, so short term guests will not have internet unless they bring a portable modem with them. These are available through TelCel and other companies in the form of a small usb "Banda Ancha" stick or bigger ones. For longer term guests we can sometimes arrange for WIFI from a friendly neighbor for around $20 usd per month. This will allow for limited WIFI coverage inside the house. Otherwise, there are many places in the center of town that offer free WIFI.

Guest access

There is room for RV parking inside our gate, or a couple of cars.

Interaction with guests

I am available nearly all the time and you'll find me very responsive to your needs. My housekeeper will probably be available to greet you, but there is also a lock box on the property making it very easy to arrive at nearly anytime.

The neighbourhood

Our little neighborhood is mostly Mexican, making it very cozy and friendly. Our new neighbors are from Europe, so now we are truly multi-cultural!

Getting around

This house is located before you arrive in the center of Sayulita, so it has easy access to Hwy. 200 without going through the often congested center of town.

Bus Stop: One advantage is that there is an optional bus stop about a block from the house. You can hail the Vallarta bus from there, or on returning you can tell the driver you want to get out at "Don Foco", one block from the house. Nice for your shopping and fun trips to Bucerias, Nuevo Vallarta, or Vallarta.

Other things to note

When a reservation is made I will send a complete Welcome Manual in PDF form. This will answer most questions, and I'm available all the time by email through airbnb to answer anything that comes up.

Note that there is an arroyo just on the other side of a small dirt road in front of the house. It's normally dry and easy to cross and not an issue, but it can fill and run swiftly intermittently whenever it rains HARD during the hot and rainy season (mostly August & September, but occasionally in July). It isn't dangerous at all and doesn't threaten to enter the house at all. If you have car it's not an issue. I only mention it because if you're walking, and you simply must go to town when it's running, you might just have to walk through some water.

I'm a long time meditator, mostly vegetarian, retired Chiropractor. I have rentals of my own and am hyper-responsible when renting other people's spaces. I love traveling, reading, cats, art, painting, walking, bike riding, my friends, my special guy, and the world. I'm generally happy and easy to be around. I don't travel with pets (though I will love yours, especially if they are cats or non-jumping dogs), and I don't smoke. I sleep with two pillows and I'll be looking for a cafe for my first cafe latte pretty soon after I get up! With renters I'm responsive and dedicated to your comfort and fun. I tend to give more information than you will ever need and am just about always available online.
