Kemptown is a great 'suburb' of Brighton, 15-20 minutes walk from the centre of town and with good transport to all parts of the city, also with its own charming Kemptown village: cute cafes, vintage stores and pubs.

The space

A really comfy king size bed faces the bay window in this huge, welcoming room. You can see the sea pretty much from the window, and the evening sun streams in. Down a small flight of stairs you'll find the pretty retro bathroom and next door to that a separate shower room with power shower. Up the stairs you'll see the lovely roof terrace with great sea views and you are welcome to smoke there if need be.

Guest access

The bedroom, modern bathroom and separate shower room are shared with me and my lodger.
There's a fab roof terrace with lovely views that you are welcome to use.

Interaction with guests

I may or may not be around, but there is usually someone in the house to keep an eye on things and answer any questions you may have.

Other things to note

Breakfast is not included in the price but there is a kettle, tea and coffee etc in the bedroom and if you need to put stuff in the fridge just let me know and you are welcome to then come into the kitchen.
Two fluffy cats roam downstairs but aren't allowed in the bedrooms.
I have two teenagers who are sometimes around, but usually keep to themselves!

Catherines house is an amazing space, which although large, is kept clean and tidy. Bed is huge and probably the best nights sleep iv had in a while. Would highly recommend to anyone travelling to brighton that wants to stay close to the town, but also have some quiet.

Catherine was a great host. There was good communication, she was very friendly and the room was lovely and clean and we felt safe there. It was a good 10 min walk down the hill to the beach and the location was great, seeing the sea when you stepped out the house. I'd advise getting a taxi back, which is cheap enough, as it is a long uphill walk from the beach. Thank you Catherine for the hospitality. I would recommend to other travellers.

A lovely stay in a very quirky home. The room is fantastic- very large, great big bed and even some lovely treats left by Catherine. Views of the see from the amazing roof terrace - perfect for those sunny evenings! It is worth noting that the house is quite a way up the hill, which might be a problem for some, but a taxi is only £5 from the pier so not a problem!

The room had everything I needed - Tea & coffee, kettle and water, fruit, a place to hang clothes, comfortable bed, access to s shower room and a bathroom, the sound of seagulls. It was clean and welcoming. Catherine's really is a family home. I was welcomed and shown around by her daughter, had some time with the cat, and otherwise was free to get on with my stay. It was a short walk into town. Catherine was really accommodating, quick to respond and was very helpful when it looked like I needed to change plans. There is free parking after 6 on Saturday and all days Sunday, which is unusual in Brighton! Thanks!
