Our home is an ideal base for outdoor activities, a quiet retreat or a visit to Dartmouth College. We are only 5 miles (on a single road!) from Hanover, NH and its cultural offerings, yet our home offers 11 peaceful acres, a gorgeous 20 mile mountain view and a large yard.
Our home is perched on a hillside overlooking the mountains that precede the White Mountains on The Appalachian Trail. Sunrises and sunsets are spectacular. Deer graze in our meadow each morning; hawks circle above in the early evening. A large backyard is perfect for lawn games.
Indoors, the open space layout of the kitchen, dining and living areas connect with the outdoors through many large windows. A small study and the lower level allow for a bit of distance from the action when quiet time is desired.
Our three bedrooms sleep 6 guests; a large rec room with a roll-away camp bed provides a sleeping option for another person. There is plenty of parking, perfect for large family gatherings.
Interaction with guests
As hosts,we are in town and nearby and happy to answer questions and to assist in any way. We can help you select from our list of favorite things to do and places to visit: hiking trails and bike rides, farmers' markets, museums and great restaurants.
Other things to note
All the key living areas are on the entry level, making this an excellent place for grandparents and others who may have difficulty managing stairs.
- We encourage family gatherings for Graduation and Reunions and Visits but request that no large, major parties be held in our home.
