The space

It is such a lovely place with breath taking views. Pictures do not do justice. We went to Capri, Cinque Terre, but the views here simply the best. Amailfi is a short drive from here, a lovely town form were Capri, Positano etc are accessible by high speed ferries. We did Capri in one Day, Pompeii the other day with kids and both places were fantastic. The accommodation was very luxurious, equipped with a small, functional kitchen, and very modern bath fixtures. The mattress was very comfortable, after long walks all we needed was a relaxing shower and a comfortable bed. They had restaurants very close to where we were, just a few meters away, that serve some great sea food with breathtaking views. Accommodates a family of 4 very easily. Overall it is a very clean place, kid friendly, has parking, and breathtaking views. The host was so helpful, all we had to do was to ask them, we got plenty of information and I really did not even bother to go online ad research about things. They have public transport also available but we had a car so we didn't bother using any. Amalfi also has quite a few places to eat, but both my kids wanted to go back to Conca to eat. They loved the restaurants.

Our host was so easy to communicate with and has plenty of great suggestions on where to visit and places to eat! We loved the little pizza/pasta restaurant in Conca dei Marini that he recommended to us! The owner is so friendly and welcoming and made us feel like we were family. The home is very clean and looks exactly like the photos. The house is situated off the beaten path on the Amalfi coast and is very comfortable and private (and a good workout for your legs!) The town allows you to go in either direction, to Positano or Amalfi by bus! The only thing we weren't entirely clear on was the fact that we would be sharing a deck with other visitors, it is separated by a flowering trellis but it's pretty easy to hear your neighbors. We loved our stay in this beautiful town!

What a place this is! With a huge spacious balcony where one can enjoy breathtaking views of the Amalfi coast over dinner/ lunch/breakfast on a huge dining table to the amazing interiors of the bedrooms, bathroom which are of the highest quality , Gioacchino ( Maria's son)has put in a lot of effort in making this place the paradise of Conca dei Marini. Gioacchino was a really good host, who took care of all our needs and went out of his way to give us a complete itinerary of interesting things to do in Amalfi coast. Conca dei marini is located in between Amalfi and Sorrento. It's at a very good location as it placed in between popular tourist destinations like positano , amalfi and sorrento and at the same not very crowded with tourists. It is a very peaceful place with warm people. It is just an hour away from Sorrebtondeom where one can take a ferry to Capri. We traveled there by car from Naples. However for detailed public transport Gioacchino would be more than happy to help! Thank Gioacchino for all the help and making our stay a memorable one ! Hope to visit your place again!

If you are planning to visit the Amalfi coast I would suggest staying in Sorrento or Salerno. This area is too far off the beaten path and very very difficult to travel to and from. The host was nice and filled with a lot of knowledge about how to get around. I picked this place because it looked amazing, huge and perfect location to see both the Amalfi Coast and Positano for a cheaper price than staying in Salerno or Sorrento but I would suggest just spending the money and staying there instead. The time, money and energy it takes to get to and from the coast is exhausting. If you are looking to explore Conca Dei Marini this is a great apartment to use.

Response from Maria:
I thank samantha and her friends for choosing my new house for her one night stay on the Amalfi Coast and hope to have them again as my guests in the future. I write to specify that: - Regarding the location, Conca dei Marini is located in the center of the Amalfi Coast and very close to the most famous places, such as Amalfi (distance is 5 km), Ravello (distance is about 10 km), Positano (distance It is about 10 km), and you can also reach, by ferry from Amalfi, to the island of Capri. Samantha wrote that this area (ie Conca dei Marini) "is too far off the beaten path and very very difficult to travel to and from", but has stayed at Conca dei Marini for one only night and, in organizing her short holiday, probably he did not check well the morphology of the Amalfi Coast and the location of Conca dei Marini because she suggested staying in Salerno or Sorrento that instead they are both far from Amalfi, Positano and Ravello about 30 km and therefore they are in a different position than the territory of the Amalfi Coast. To verify this, is sufficient to consult the map of our territory. I add that, on the morning of the 11th of May, I sent to Samantha a message to know by what means of transport and what time she would come to Amalfi Coast, in order to arrange its check-in and, after knowing that she did not have the car, I told at my son Gioacchino to go get them at the bus stop with his car, to bring them at home and make the check-in, that provides the explanation of all the features of the house, and also of all maps and public transport timetables. My son took them at home and, having known they had not lunched along the road, accompanied them to one of the restaurants that are in our country. For the evening, Samantha and her friends decided to go to Positano and they could consult the bus timetable, which is in the book that contains maps and other timetables of public transport; Furthermore, my son Gioacchino informed them that the last bus to return to Conca dei Marini leaves from Positano at 21:40 pm. Unfortunately Samantha lost this bus and asked my son to go and pick them up. My son Gioacchino, at midnight, went to Positano to bring them at home, all for free; usually a taxi requires about € 50 for this transfer. The next morning, my son took them again with his car to the bus stop, so they could comfortably get to Sorrento. I write all this to point out that Conca dei Marini is in an optimal position to travel to the most important places on the Amalfi Coast even by using buses, and it is sufficient (as in every place) to organize effectively and to look at the maps and timetables of buses. I think that's right to point out also the commitment and assistance provided free of charge by my family to Samantha and her group of friends to help them organize their stay in the Amalfi Coast in the most comfortable and effective as possible. It highlights that, in the house, we have prepared a book containing all the maps of the most famous sites such as Amalfi and Positano and public transport timetables and generally useful information about the most beautiful places to visit; maps and timetables of public transport, during check-in, they are illustrated and explained in order to provide clear and complete information. We take this opportunity to invite our future guests to ask for this information even before arriving in the house and we will be happy to answer these questions in order to provide our guests with a clear picture of the public transport of the Amalfi Coast, on the best way from follow to get at home and in general all the useful information to organize a beautiful and comfortable holiday on the Amalfi Coast. Finally, I inform my guests that a few days ago the municipality of Conca dei Marini has activated the internal bus to the village, service (which work until October 31st) that allows to go even more easily to the main bus stops and near the beach. I thank again Samantha for having chosen my new home for her holiday on the Amalfi Coast and I hope to have her and her friends again as my guests in the future.

Maria and her son, Nino, were exceptional hosts. Upon learning that we didn't have a car, they were at our disposal to help us with luggage and in and out of town a few times. The accommodation is stunning with an equal view to match. I greatly enjoyed the privacy and space the apartment provided as well as the ability to cook break and make coffee as an early morning riser. Nino was also very helpful with recommendations for the immediate and surrounding area and demonstrates a great love for his hometown that made us fall in love with it too. Enjoy this beautiful coast!

"Mundane", "average", "no", these are all words that do NOT describe Maria's picturesque abode. Hold onto your seats, as I paint you a picture with my words of my almost heart stopping experience. Let's start at the beginning, we first met Gioacchino when he picked us up in his automobile from the bus stop. And wow!, was it an informative car ride. As he was showing us the town and suggesting to us an authentic restaurant, the owner invited us in for a glass of champagne, on the house! Wow! What a great friend Nino has become. Once we arrived at his estate, Giacchino gave us an impeccable tour and illustrated to us, with the use of his many maps, every possible route we could take to many different destinations. Wow! I will never ever get lost in Amalfi. And Giacchino's hospitality did not end there! Wow! He even drove us to Amalfi, and wow! He masterfully navigated the busy, winding mountain roads. I'd trust him with my life. Nay, I would trust him to drive my grandmother, as I like and value her life more than my own. Now onto the apartment, words cannot describe how charming it was, but I will attempt to regardless. Giaocchino worked tirelessly to revamp this space. For starters, he transformed an antique armoire into a exciting miniature kitchenette. Wow! Secondly, he created a luxurious, blue tile pattern above the bed and in the bathroom-but we'll get to the bathroom in a minute. The bed was not only comfortable and clean, but also slightly perfumed-just like I remember from my time in the womb, what a comforting memory. Now, hold on to your seats for...the bathroom! Wow! Such masterful tile work. And don't even get me started on the towels, oh wait you did!, they were such wonderful towels. Lastly, I can't finish my review without discussing the view (pause to appreciate that rhyme). Wow! It was breathtaking, I was thankful I brought my inhaler. Wow! And finally, the balcony itself. Wow! It was so large, I was remiss that I didn't have my racket for tennis (pause yet again for yet another witty rhyme). Giacchino wisely inserted amphorae along the balcony (for those of you who are ignorant to the vast history of the amphorae, allow me to enlighten you. Follow me on a quick journey to Ancient Greece. Here we see the use of the amphorae in the symposium, where men (sorry ladies, men only) would relax, drink wine, talk politics, and I'm assuming joke (although there is no historical documentation of jokes that were said, please allow me to apologize in advance if my speculation of the time offends you). The amphorae were the large pitchers where wine and water was mixed and stored. It was then poured into a kylix, which is the drinking cup of the time. These amphorae were usually beautifully decorated by artisans with depictions of flora and fauna and often times with myths of Greek goddesses...
