Spacious double bedroom with sole use of adjacent wet room. The house is spacious with spectacular views, and a huge garden. Long Ashton is 3 miles from Bristol city centre with regular buses, its own park and ride and a good cycle route. Just 15 minutes car/taxi ride from the airport. Three pubs within strolling distance. Breakfast included.
We love living here and hope you will enjoy it too. The area is very quiet, and there are wonderful walks directly from the house up onto the golf course and the woods above us and in the parklands of Ashton Court. Bikes are available if you wish to make longer hikes.
The house is spacious. Breakfast is in the sunny kitchen/dining room: tea, coffee, cereals, muesli, yoghurt, toast and fruit.
Children are most welcome--we have a huge trampoline and ping pong and other games available. (If you need them, we have waterproof undercovers for the beds.) However we don't have a cot, as most people seem to have their own travel cot.
One older child or another adult can go in our second spare bedroom (it has a double bed). You have to pay for this room when you get here as I can't find a way to let it as one booking on Airbnb. It is £10 less than the main room. Please let us know at the time of booking if this room is required.
The wet room is next to your room and will only be used by you. There is also a bathroom at the end of the corridor which is for our use, but if you prefer baths to showers you are most welcome to it.
Downstairs the shared space consists of a big modern, kitchen cum dining room cum sitting room downstairs, and an additional separate sitting room (photographs to follow..) and a large deck outside which has lighting and heating and operates in the summer as an additional outside room. You are most welcome to use the kitchen, but the study off the utility room is really our workplace and we would like to keep it that way (we both work part of the time from home).
The garden is 300 foot long and is lovely to roam and lounge in. If you come at the right time of the year, please avail yourself of currants, plums, mulberries, apples, pears etcetera.
Interaction with guests
We enjoy having guests and sharing a drink, but we also realise that you may prefer to be on your own and that is of course fine with us. (There is a kettle and tea and coffee things in your room and a snugly robe so that you can decently nip into the wet room).
We can provide you with travel information, maps and lots of information about what to see and do in Bristol.
Other things to note
There is no television in the bedroom, but downstairs there is a huge television in the sitting room with Netflix etcetera. The kitchen also has a television.
I am a children's writer and journalist and my husband Jeremy works as a television director. We enjoy having guests. Five things we cannot live without? Good food, films, television, books, beer.
