Lovely house in a secluded and peaceful yet convenient location. Well equipped with comfy beds and old world charm. This was a nice and cosy house to spend a few days with my family, including plenty of toys and books for my 2 year old.

The house is an artwork which was built by classic wood structure. The outside enviroment is wonderful for kids. They love to play on the whole big lawn. The house is very quite and close to Apollo bay. My family is very enjoy the time there.

We spent a week at Joy's's place over the New Year's break and had a great time. The space was big enough for the 3 of us (2 adults and a toddler) and has a great outdoor grassed area for running around. The house is 6kms out of Apollo Bay centre so you'll need a car. It's rustic and unique but doesn't have wifi or air con. Some areas could definitely do with some updates but if you're happy to overlook those then the house has a lot of original charm and character. Thanks for having us Joy!

The best thing about Walshan House is its location surrounded by forest with views of trees through every window. You can see Apollo Bay and the ocean in the distance but for those visiting the region to enjoy the natural environment (other than beach) this is the place to stay. The house truly has everything you could possibly need and would be ideal for those travelling with children (cot, highchair, toys, books). As three adults we enjoyed listening to the birds with a glass of wine and local cheese on the ample veranda. Our only regret was not being able to stay longer.

It was great to spend a week at Apollo Bay area. The location is good with easy access to both forests and beach. The house provided good privacy from the main road. It commands fine view with big green space in the garden surrounded by trees. The weather was great and the view from the hill over the bay was beyond the description on our way back home from a day's travel to Otway Fly. The structure of the house was very good, and the timber interior gave warm and soft feeling when we first got inside. The fireplace gave good warmth for a couple of nights in low temperature. Linens were clean on each bed and we had good sleep at nights. There are some other things that need improvement. The carpet and the floor weren't clean, and the sofa in front of the fireplace was messy and we all avoided sitting in it. The kitchenware wasn't clean and we had to do dishwashing for an hour on our arrival. The door of the main toilet needs repair as it stops in the middle when opening. In overall, I had a strong impression that the house deserves much better maintenance: I've paid $347 per night and I think it's overpriced considering the condition of the house. Othe than that, the travel was really great with a lot of places to visit during the full week's holiday.

Beautiful rustic farm style home right on the GOR, and nestled in the woods of Otway national Forrest. Had a wonderful getaway, went walking on the beach, saw koalas and wallaby, enjoyed a nice fire, and took more pics than my phone had memory for. This place is seriously a hidden gem and has a very authentic old timey feel. Only down side was that we forgot our shampoo and conditioner, but were able to grab some in Apollo Bay just 5min down the road. Would stay again!
