About this listing
Our home is perfect for paddlers, hikers, or just sightseers on vacation. We are across the street from the local coffee/sweet shop, half a block from the grocery store, and right behind the local kayak guiding service! We have a large porch, perfect for relaxing after a day spent adventuring. Come visit beautiful Lake Superior, hike to waterfalls, and soak up the relaxing Cornucopia lifestyle all the while sleeping less than 500 feet from the Corny beach!
We ask that guests remain in the front of the hotel. The porch, front room, office, upstairs hall, both upstairs bathrooms, and their private rooms are open for the guests. The large wooden doors in the downstairs front room separate the private living spaces from the guest areas and we ask that when the doors are closed, guests grant the owner some privacy. The office is a great place to access the wifi, and also has a wooden door that we ask people to not pass through. Unfortunately, guests cannot use the kitchen, but there is a small refrigerator in the office that is dedicated to the guest's use. Private signs will be posted so this should be rather easy to understand. Feel free to lounge in any of the open spaces though, we love chatting with guests during their stay.
Interaction with guests
We are happy to make suggestions for activities or places to eat while you are staying at the hotel. I do work during the day, but you can always leave a note on the office table!
Our tiny town is right on the lake. If you're looking for something to do, think about taking a guided kayak tour or maybe hiking over the sea caves from Meyers beach.
Unfortunately we are too small to have much public transportation. Just about everything is within walking distance in our town, though. The nearest towns are Bayfield and Washburn, which are both about a 25 minute drive. We are about an hour and 15 minutes from Duluth.
Other things to note
We have a cat, she loves attention when she's around the hotel. She loves being outdoors though, and often makes herself scarce. Also, the owner has a pup named Hugo. Both animals are very friendly!
