The Summer House in Snape is located in the beautiful Suffolk countryside. Within walking distance of Snape Maltings, the world renowned concert hall and cultural gem.

The house is 5 miles from the quintessentially English seaside town of Aldeburgh. It's 3 miles from the local train station at Saxmundham.

Surrounded by an RSPB conservation area home to many rare species including the elusive Stone Curlew.

An enclosed garden allows security for pets and children.

Come and enjoy!

The space

The Summerhouse and Old Dairy are converted farm buildings on Abbey Farm characterised by its tranquillity and simple charm. Guests also have access to the oldest barn in Suffolk which serves as a games room and indoor play area. Abbey Farm fields have mown paths for dog walkers or birdwatchers and your host can arrange for children to assist with animal feeding and care. We can cater for most pets and we are happy to negotiate discounts for longer stays.

Guest access

Abbey Farm has open spaces for children's games or sports as well as a 13th century barn with pool table and ping pong for general use. Access to the smallholding (ponies, goats, sheep and hens) can be arranged with the host. Both cottages have enclosed gardens for privacy and security.

Interaction with guests

The host, Miranda, is usually available throughout the stay for information and assistance. She lives on site but teaches in a local school Monday to Thursday.

Other things to note

Snape Maltings Concert Hall was opened by the Queen in 1967 and along with the Aldeburgh Festival has since established a world class reputation. Today Snape Maltings is a popular visitor site, home to a range of fashionable shops, galleries, restaurants, Aldeburgh Music’s creative campus and, of course, the beautiful Concert Hall.

This is a lovely place to stay on a beautiful farm located in a perfect spot in Snape. It's ideal to get away from the hustle & bustle. We stayed with my niece who is 11 months old and this was a perfect place for her. It was really safe and practical for children and we could allow her to play in the garden without any concerns. The area itself is beautiful and Miranda is close by for any information that we needed.

Great for toddlers. No stairs, safe garden that you can leave them in and child-friendly furniture inside, plus a baby goat and several pigs to look at!

I live in the grounds of a smallholding, adjacent to the listing. I am new to airbnb and would love to welcome all; especially those who like animals, long walks in the beautiful countryside, good food, music and culture.
