A room in a beautiful country mansion with birds/animals & fishing. A local water park, canopy, and bicycling.
A small paradise - the balcony with hammocks, the sounds of the stream, the small lake - with fish & a waterfall, the animals (ducks, geese - with their own pond, turkeys, rabbits, dogs, goats), the swimming pool, and paths – almost a mini nature reserve – a truly delightful experience close to the city.

I am a retired Engineer, born in England, with UK & US nationality (both passports). I have worked and travelled in Europe, Africa (North, West & South Africa), Mid East, Persian Gulf, North America (US & Canada), and Central & South America. I Have travelled to Australia, Vietnam, and Bali.
I was born, educated, and lived in England for the first 18 years and was further educated in the US. I worked in petroleum exploration (seismic) in oil producing environments all over the world for 13 years, then worked and lived in Houston Texas for 27 years Then I retired to Panama (in 2004), and eventually moved to Colombia (in 2006), where I have spent the last 11 years.
My favorite countries to visit are France and Spain.
Where I live in Colombia (Copacabana, Antioquia - 30 to 45 minutes from Medellin easily travelled by Metro or freeway) has in my opinion the best climate in the world (better than even Medellin - where it rains more than it does here, has less sunshine, and gets colder and hotter). We have more than 300 days of sunshine a year. The temperature (measured over a 4 year period) has not dropped below 65°F - 18°C or risen above 85°F - 29°C. It is generally a mean of 75°F - 24°C with 60% humidity. My idea of the perfect climate WITH WONDERFUL VIEWS
I have worked in Petroleum exploration, the Defense industry, Medical imaging, and Web application development.
When I arrived in Colombia I bought, remodeled and furnished a Penthouse in Lalinde where I lived for 6 years, before building my country mansion in Copacabana which I am now offering as an Airbnb location. I sold the penthouse to another Englishman (Nick) who is currently offering the penthouse as an Airbnb location.
I consider myself to be an engineer/artist/artisan/gourmet cook/philosopher.
Art, design, and music are important parts of my life. I designed the furnishings I have painted all but one of the paintings, and the sculptings in the Mansion (as I did in the penthouse in Lalinde - I left all of the artwork and furnishings in the penthouse with Nick when he bought it). I have more than 26,000 tracks of music: - Rock, Latin, Jazz, World music.
I love movies and the cinema, among my favorites are Star Wars, The Game, Seven, Usual Suspects, & Pulp Fiction. I like Cirque du Soleil and have a few DVDs which I like to show projected on my huge (2.4 meter wide) screen.
I like reading almost anything everything from Tom Clancy, and Dan Brown to Bill Bryson and Jared Diamond.
I like fine dining and to cook gourmet dishes for small groups (4-6 people - more than that I revert to Barbeque or Paella).
I would like to have guests who would enjoy a luxurious place in the country (but easily accessible and close to Medellin - JUST A METRO RIDE AWAY) with great views, good (and varied) music, and gourmet food (which is available for a nominal extra charge).
