About this listing

Situated down a quiet residential lane a stones throw from leafy Dartmouth Square and Grand Canal, this light-filled two bedroomed home is the perfect base for exploring Dublin city.

The space

Guests are free to make use of the house as if it is their own; relax in the light-filled sitting room or spend a few hours in the back-garden where you can sit and have a drink at the picnic bench or pick some fresh veg to cook up in the kitchen! There are also two bathrooms, a downstairs toilet and a bath/shower room upstairs.

Interaction with guests

Whatever the guests wish for. We can show you our favourite local spots or let you discover them for yourselves. A designer/actor/photographer household so very open and friendly, but also respect your need for privacy if so desired!

Other things to note

We have a lovely cat, Yeta, who goes for wanders during the day but stays in at night. If inside during the day he likes to lounge about the house but sleeps in the kitchen at night. If you have an allergy or an aversion to cats, our place might not be the best for you. If you are renting the entire house we do book Yeta into a lovely local cat boarding accommodation so you don't have to worry about him being in the house during your stay!

It's a lovely and full of sunshine house. It's very easy to find the location. Bed is a little bit small for 2 person but it's ok. Bathroom with enough hot water. We didn't use kitchen but it's there and big and sunshine. We are cat lovers and Yeta welcome us every night. Thanks for hosting.

Thanks Michelle for staying and being such a wonderful guest. You will be happy to hear that we now have a new king sized bed in the room if you ever re-visit! :)

Kasia being herself on holiday during our stay, it was her sister L. hosting my boyfriend and me. (Thanks to Kasia for making this possible despite her being away!) L. gave us a real warm welcome and made us feel at home instantly. She had prepared a list with helpful information, like recommendations for cafes and bars (we've tried out a couple of them, they were lovely :)) and bus numbers to take to go to the city centre. She and her friend S. who was staying over sometimes are such nice people, it felt like staying in the house of friends really. They are very easy-going and uncomplicated. The house is in a quiet neighbourhood, and the city centre is reached quickly by dublinbike, Bus or a bit of walking. The room is indeed very sunny (we were lucky with the weather) and the bed (as we'd suspected from the pictures) is a little small for two people (we've had some 'fights' over mattress space ;-)). The welcome was hearty and the house lovely (with a nice back garden). Thank you so much to L. and S. who made our stay an exceptional one! We very much hope meeting you again.

Our stay in Ranelagh was nothing short of perfect! Kasia was a great communicator and kept us in the loop to ensure that we had a quick and easy arrival from the airport. The morning of our only day there, we were greeted by the radiant and warm sun in the bedroom illuminating all of Kasia's eclectic finds and photos. We actually never met Kasia but she arranged for her friends to fill her spot and what a great group they are! Vincent made breakfast with us and later, drove us to the Guinness brewery. A 5 minute drive or 15 to 20 minute walk and you are there. Even closer is the well known Temple Bar and all of it's vibrant happenings. After a 10 minute walk home from the city center that evening, we came home to Kasia's sister and even more welcoming friends who let us join in on their cake and wine festivities. All in all with the coziness of Kasia's place and her great group of friends, the city center minutes from your doorstep, and a day of great weather, Ranelagh was a slice of paradise.

This was a great place to stay! The house and the neighbourhood are lovely, and a short walk to the city centre. Kasia, Eddie and their cat were fantastic hosts. Thank you!

The place is in a lovely area of Dublin, near to great bars and restaurants and a 15-minute walk to the city centre. It's a nice house on a quiet, residential street and the room is comfortable and clean. The hosts are a very friendly and welcoming couple and it was a great pleasure to hang out with them. They were particularly kind when our car wouldn't start at 5 am, letting us back into the house and cooking us breakfast as we waited for the AA to arrive!

Hello!

My name is Liadain and I live and work in Dublin, Ireland. I'm one half of The Market Kitchen, a weekly market stall at the Temple Bar Food Market serving up simple yet delicious fare using the best of Irish produce the market has to offer. I'm also a costume designer and maker of things!

I love to travel, meet new people and engage with new cultures. I love the arts, food, music, cycling, walking, and any adventure that waits around the corner.

I live in a beautiful little house with my sister Kasia, her boyfriend Eddie and our cat Yeta. As I travel often for work, sometimes for long periods, sometime short, we've decided to rent out my room for the periods that I'm away. Send us a message to enquire and hopefully we can accommodate your request!
