Cathedral View House is in the heart of the city within minutes of all tourist attractions, stunning shopping areas and shops, the famous Norwich market square, huge variety of restaurants and bars. If you don't already know Norwich then please do come and see this secret gem set amongst the stunningly beautiful county of Norfolk, whilst staying in our fabulous home set in the centre of medieval area of the city centre.
Norwich is an idyllic historic city with it's medieval city wall (still on view), fabulous city walks, a huge variety of great things to do, hidden passages, river boat trips and plenty to do in the evening. On top of this you can be in the countryside within minutes or on the beach in 30 minutes as Norfolk boasts some of the most picturesque coastal resorts that the UK can offer.
Cathedral View House is as central a location as you could ever want, with professionally designed interiors - sumptuous comfort, stylish furnishings, all amenities on your doorstep and you can sleep up to 4 guests in 2 separate private double bedrooms with 2 more in the living room on the comfy double or single Air bed (comes with an electric pump I am sure you will be very pleased to know).
CATHEDRAL STREET - 100 yards off the main strip but still enjoys the peace and quiet that you would hope far - and is seconds from everything you need to make your stay a perfect one. The most fantastic, Norwich Cathedral Close is only 30 yards away, and you are close to food shops, bars and restaurants and only a 5 minute walk from the main Norwich to London (plus other routes) main train station.
PLEASE BE AWARE - there is limited PARKING for cars in this centrally located city centre house - it makes for less noise, exhaust pollution and cluttered streets so is a true benefit!. Parking options range from 100% free for the duration of your stay or a maximum of £7.70p per 24 hours in the Rose Lane 24/7 secure/ modern/ brand new car park. If you want to fully avoid all fees then free on-street parking is a only 800m lovely walk away.
Cathedral House is situated in the middle of the city centre - which is a super place for bars, restaurants and with it the usual harmless city hustle and bustle at the weekends.
Cathedral View House was built in the 1850's - 167 years ago and counting - with it's wonderful charms comes the wonderful original features that history brings - wooden sash windows, quirky and lovable period features, a steepish stairway, a great shower (no bath), a door onto the street, a courtyard area and all the hoped for and positive charms of a Victorian period townhouse.
THE HOUSE - We guarantee the house will be pristinely presented and clean for the beginning of your stay. You will enjoy the cosy settings of a country styled self contained townhouse whilst only being minutes from all the action that Norwich has to offer. We can be flexible on check in times and check out times as long as other guests are flexible too.
There are two separate private (with locks) double bedrooms with double beds (1 bedroom can be converted into a single bed and double bedded bedroom if needed (only on request and with good notice).
There is free unlimited Sky broadband and Wi-fi, 60+ channels on Sky TV (Sky Go enables you to watch TV anywhere in the House on a tablet or smart phone) for those times when you want to put your feet up elsewhere in the house. There is a modern shower room and a kitchen which is fully equipped with all you need to knock up a fabulous meal (electric ceramic hob, electric oven, microwave etc) and a new tumble drier, washing machine and dish washer to make life easier during your stay. We also have some choice novels/books/guides, some DVDs and board games for you during those down times. The living room is cosy and has a flat screen TV, DVD player and SKY TV. We have now placed chairs and a table in the shared courtyard area - We try to keep it tidy but it is an added bonus but please don't expect a salubrious decked area with BBQ and style - it is an added space to sit out in during the hotter summer months and is quite nice.
We love to provide all our guests with as much information about the house and what to do as we can. We have collected a great selection of what's on guide, tourist leaflets and art/culture guides and calendars. We also provide a top tips guide to where to eat, where to go and places to see. We hope this is a great help to you. The info file also has lots of info about the house, which is also a great comfort. One thing to note - this house is a house which is purposely designed to cater for the holiday maker and is not where we live - on too many occasions we have been away and found that we have landed in a house where the host also lives - where it is not so clean, has personal clutter and where the house is a wee bit tired and grubby. Cathedral View House is presented to the highest level possible and we are sure you will have an excellent stay.
THE SHORT WALK FROM THE TRAIN STATION - A short walk (about 700 metres) up Prince of Wales Rd on the right hand side - Crossing the River over a bridge, passing places like The Compleat Angler pub, various take aways and shops to the right until you come to Cathedral Street on your right - walk to the end and you will find Cathedral House at the end of the street (Black gloss door and grey brick exterior).
For the few coming by bus or coach the main bus station is only about 1km away/15 mins walk.
CAR PARKING - is not free but thankfully not a bank breaker.
You have 5 or so options:
Rose Lane Multi-story (NR1 1PY)- 3 minutes walk away. Stays over 5+ hours cost no more than £5.90. This is brand new, well lit, clean, secure 24/7 car park - so very convenient - most guests choose to park here.
On the street - Pay and display for 30p per 15 mins (£1.20 per hr for a max of two hours stay) - cheap and perfect for a short stay when you are in and out and there are always spaces. Maximum 2 hours at a time though.
Castle Mall multi story car park (NR1 3LE)- 400m walk away. Fees between £5 and £8 per day.
Disabled bays - there are 3 to 4 bays opposite the house (10 feet away) as long as you display the usual badge then this is 24/7 free parking. Another huge benefit.
Free parking on the street in Thorpe - only 800m+ walk from the house. Lots of roads to choose from including - Wolfe Rd in NR1 4HT, Cremorne Lane in NR1 1TZ or Britannia Road NR1 4HJ but there is lots to choose from so if you want to avoid the parking fees then it really is not much of a effort and as Norwich is one of the safest cities in the UK then it is usually safe.
SHOPPING - you will simply have within 5 minutes walk all you need and one of the best shopping experiences in the UK. Most of the centre of Norwich is pedestrianised and fabulous in all ways possible.
CASTLE MALL SHOPPING - 300 meters from the house with all the usual shops you would expect including Boots the Chemist.
CHAPELFIELDS SHOPPING MALL - 15 min walk into and via the city main shopping areas.
Main shopping areas are mostly pedestrianized so head for Tombland which is a 4 min walk and onto Queens St and London St and you are there.
St Benedicts and the Lanes of Pottergate - my favourite part where lots of local shops will give you one of the most eclectic and diverse shopping experiences.
CLOSE BY - there are 20+ restaurants and great pubs within 5 mins walk of the house and over 100+ within 10 mins walk from the house. Highlights for me are The Rooftop Gardens - brand new in Oct 2016, 6 floors up with views across Norwich - do book, Bishops (10 mins) - Alex is great and the food exquisite, Benedict's - just search for him as he is amazing and you must book well in advance, and of course all the usuals from Jamie's, Turtle Bay, Pizza Express etc etc - all very good.
Norwich enjoys a mass of cultural attractions, excellent restaurants, several theatres, a castle, a 900 year old Cathedral which is literally on your doorstep and is set in the largest and most amazing Cathedral Closes' in the UK and not to mention one of the best shopping centres in Britain. Everything is within walking distance so you will be spoilt for choice.
Norfolk also has a wealth of amazing traditional coastal resorts which are only 30 minutes or so away by car and will be sure to keep you wooed and busy and of course easy by train.
WALKING - the river is only 5 mins away with wonderful walks. Also, please do look up the infamous city walks for those who love historic buildings, churches and medieval splendor. We even have a great ghost walks which is a must especially in the winter nights.

You will have the whole house for yourself. We live 5 minutes away and will be happy to meet and to advise you before and during your stay in this fine city.
We will aim to meet you at the house but there's a key safe there if you need to check in at an inconvenient time. The key safe can be found in the side alley to the right of the house and to the right of the white kitchen door. I will let you know the code when you are on your way. We live only 5 minutes away so will aim to be as flexible as we can so making for a stress free break.
All guests will have full use of the house and amenities.
Interaction with guests
We would hope to meet each guest at the start of each stay but there's a key safe which can be used for entry at all times 24/7. We are literally 5 minutes away so if there is any problem we are almost always able to help.
Other things to note
This is a 170 year old period city dwelling which has still got its original character but with all the modern features you would hope to desire. The house is furnished and decorated to a very high standard so that you are made to feel at home and have as luxurious a stay as possible
The best part of this house is that you are simply slam bang in the middle of Norwich city centre and within 30 yards of the The Cathedral Close which is simply the most stunning place in Norfolk.
There are two separate double bedrooms. The house has a washing machine, tumble drier and dishwasher and the kitchen has all you need to cater for yourself during your stay.
We are happy to greet a well trained, quietly spoken pet (dogs only) addition to your party. We however do reserve the right to refuse this if we do not feel it is right. Please do let us know if you intend to bring your dog (one per visit) and we can discuss it at an individual basis. We ask that you do not allow them on the furniture or upstairs at any times. We would usually not want them to be left on their own unless you have a dog crate.
If there are 6 guests then please note there is one single shower and WC room - with organised planning our guests soon navigate this small problem.
No parties or events please as our neighbours mean a lot to us.
Please leave our parking permit in the house at the end of the stay or this will incur a replacement fee of £20.
We have a guest/visitor book and would hope you will add a note or two or useful tips for future guests. We often find this very useful to read ourselves too and endeavour to improve the house and our service as we go. Our aim is to please you all and we hope we achieve it.
We try to make each guests' stay as easy as possible so we provide soap and toilet roll in the shower room: coffee/tea, sugar, cooking oil/ salt/ pepper/ herbs for cooking in the kitchen. There is a washing machine, tumble drier and dish washer as well.

Collette and I have lived in this amazing city of Norwich for the past 22 years. Collette and I own and run an interior design company called Home Stagers so this takes us to some lovely parts of the UK- none better than Norwich I hasten to add.
We are still quite new to AirBnB but we hope you will soon be enjoying the fruits of our labours when you visit one of our three beautiful prepared houses; whether in our centrally located house - Cathedral House - central and with views of the Beautiful cathedral which is only a few minutes from the house, or our smaller but well proportioned Golden Triangle Mews House or or fabulous Thorpe St Andrew house for up to 6 guests. 5 stars reviews have been poured onto us from the many very generous and satisfied guests who have already stayed.
