The space

7th Street Guesthouse began as a two-room home built in the late 1800's. Over the course of time, to accommodate the lives of its occupants, it evolved into a very enjoyable home.

Guest access

The house has two sunporches that invite you to sit a spell and read, do handwork, meditate, or have conversation. The large bedrooms, living area, dining room and kitchen are nostalgic of times gone by. Relaxation is in the air. The large outdoor porch is a gathering place for family fun.

The goal is to interact with Guests at the level they are comfortable with in order to have their stay be as pleasant and happy as possible.

Other things to note

We have a variety of movies and board games for the enjoyment of our guests. Local wifi is available all around the square at restaurants as well as the library in town.

The bedrooms and living area of the Guesthouse are made comfortable in the summer with window air conditioners.

Keith and Gail's place is clean and cozy with plenty of space to enjoy. It's a great place to rest away from the hustle and bustle of the big city. We hope to go back and stay again soon.

My boyfriend and I truly felt welcomed into this adorable small town. Keith and Gail have a beautiful guest home and we felt very comfortable and content. Close to the Real Ale Brewery and delicious restaurants. We are already looking forward to another visit!

House is very pretty and larger that what you see on the pictures (There are large bedrooms) Is well preserve and in a quiet neighborhood, I was able to walk around the main square in the morning. Keith and Gail are both great persons and always available for questions you may have Recommend this place for a good relax time!

This place was great. I wish we would have booked 2 nights instead of one. The house was very clean and well taken care of. I will definitely be coming back to stay longer.

Gail and Keith have a great house for those looking to step back into time and enjoy the living of the early 1900s with modest modern updates in a little hill country town. They showed pure southern hospitality gifting us with a dozen fresh farm eggs which we enjoyed in our Sunday morning quiche. The location is a skip away to the state park where you can enjoy a refreshing swim and a skip away to the town square to enjoy a bite at the local restaurants. If you are traveling with a family and enjoy cooking like we do Gail and Keith offer a basic equipped kitchen but are happy to accommodate if you need anything at all. That's what I loved most about this listing. If you are ever missing anything they encourage you to let them know so they can quickly make your stay and future guests more comfortable. Thank you for a relaxing weekend!!

We enjoyed our stay at Keith and Gail's place. The house is very comfortable, centrally located on the wine trail. Lots of room to relax for the four of us who stayed there.

Keith and I are retired educators. We enjoy a small farm with goats, a few cows, a couple of horses, chickens, and a couple of dogs and cats. We spend as much time as possible with our grandchildren and other family and friends. We love to travel. Sometimes we head to the Rocky Mountains where we have family. We really enjoy traveling to new places. We love people and hearing their stories.

I (Gail) lived in our guesthouse in the 1980's. When we retired and moved back to Blanco, we decided to restore it. The first pharmacist in Blanco lived in this house. It is often referred to by old timers here in Blanco as the Old Speer House. It originally had 2 large rooms. When the Speer's were elderly, they added on a little apartment, bathroom and kitchen. This was so a local family could move in and help care for them. I love this old house. It is very special.

Keith and I love to meet and become acquainted with our guests. However, we try not to intrude. We realize that our guests do not come to see us. :) They come to relax and tend to their own agenda.

We love our repeat guests. We just leave a key for them and let them be "at home." They are like family.
