Description

The space

Totally unique warehouse, only one left standing after the war. We have the penthouse covering two floors 2,300 sq ft. We have the gable end with sweeping views of Southampton water and all the docking locations for the cruise liners. The building was an old luggage despository holding cargo for the passenger liners c1900 such as The Titanic and it's sister ships. We have modernised it into an open plan Scandi feel urban loft space and the room offered is very large and comfy with stunning views. From here you can walk into Southampton central and there are plenty of bars and restaurants within 5 minutes.

Guest access

You have your own private room at the end of a corridor with king bed, sofa, TV, desk and wifi. Your own wet room with jacuzzi all recently refurbished. I do not provide breakfast but you are very welcome to use the kitchen to prepare any food or drink with free tea or coffee. There are 3 coffee shops within sight of the building and a coop should you need anything.

Interaction with guests

Both me, Suzanne and Ashley my husband will be very happy to help you out with any local information regarding restaurants, culture or shopping. Trips to further afield I.e London etc. I love dance and design and London, Ash loves kit cars, kitesurfing and sailing and we both love travel so we're happy to help if you're interested in any of that.

The neighbourhood

The views from this apartment are just amazing and a never ending moving visual feast from the Isle of Wight ferry, cruise liners, container ships, yachts etc you can never tire of it. Everything is walking distance, shops, buses, railway, West Quay shopping centre, Sea City Museum & Art Gallery, the marina, cinemas and theatre. Busy urban heaven. We have an outpost of the famous Pig hotel chain round the corner which has a lovely bar, an excellent Italian restaurant on the ground floor of the building and a micro brewery in the old Wool House which is the very next building along. The rear of the building looks out of the ruins and park.

Getting around

Bus stop right by the building and Southampton train station and National Express coach station within 15 minutes walk. Isle of Wight car ferry is opposite is as it the Fastcat service. We are 10 minutes from both major cruise passenger terminals.

Other things to note

On street parking is available for £8 per day free overnight from 8pm-8am. Nearest parking is either on French Street which is one way or Gloucester Square car park just off the high street which is across the road.

A beautiful, quirkily designed flat with very hospitable hosts. Suzanne was very communicative and welcoming even though we arrived late, and very understanding that we were bound by our boat times! Thanks and hopefully see you before another race.

Such a great location ! Very convenient to the port as well as grocery stores and other shopping. 1 quick set of stairs to climb to get to the room. Hosts were friendly and helpful. They went out of their way to be sure I had what I needed. THANKS!

The place is lovely, nice spacious room with a view on the river, and the jacuzzi is amazing! Suzanne and Ashley were nice and friendly, they kindly picked me up from the train station arriving late in the evening. Suzanne also gave me useful suggestions of where to eat and what to see in the surroundings.
