Other things to note
The Camden Street area is one of the very best in Dublin – lively, multicultural, full of pubs, coffee shops, restaurants, music venues and night clubs. Whelan's (location of "P.S. I love you"), Dublin's most important music venue is just around the corner. Devitt's and Flannery's are two other pubs that are host to some of Dublin's best traditional Irish music sessions every week.
Other places of interest in the immediate vicinity include: St Patrick's Cathedral, Marsh's Library, The Irish-Jewish Museum, the birthplace of George Bernard Shaw, the National Concert Hall, the Iveagh Gardens, St Stephen's Green … and many more.
Grafton Street, Trinity College, the Parliamentary buildings, the National History Museum and the National Gallery are within a radius of 5-15 mins walk. So too are Dublin Castle and the wonderful Chester Beattie Library.
The thriving nightlife of George's Street, South William Street and Dame Lane – and the more tourist-focused Temple Bar are also about 7-8 mins walk away.
The Guinness Brewery, the Jameson Distillery, the Brazen Head Pub, The Cobblestone, O'Connell Street are a little further out from the centre, but easily walkable. It's worth pointing out that Dublin city centre is mostly on the south side of the river, so most places of interest – and most of the nightlife – are easier to access if you're based on this side of the city.
For sports fans, Croke Park is on the number 16 bus route; the Aviva Stadium/Landsdowne Road is a short taxi journey away.
You can get to all the main city-centre attractions easily on foot. We're happy to provide you with maps, tips, and recommendations on where to go. If you have cause to use public transport, the area is very well served by bus routes, light rail (Luas), taxis and Dublin Bikes.
