Katoomba, situated within The Blue Mountains national park, is one of the largest tourist attractions in Australia. We're close to Blackheath, Wentworth Falls and Leura - all of which also offer serene waterfalls, unique lookouts, amazing hiking tracks, excellent rock climbing and abseiling locations, historical monuments and vintage shops - all while surrounded by the beautiful native Australian bushland and wildlife. You're certain to have a memorable stay.

You have unmitigated access to everything at all times.
You are encouraged to treat our home respectfully as if it were your own.

Interaction with guests
We're a younger, social couple and desire to interact with the guests as if they were friends if we are home and it's appropriate for both parties.
We do understand and respect the privacy of our guests who are after a little down or quiet time, but it should be kept in mind that we live here, too!
If you prefer a more private and discreet environment, we might not be the right fit this time around. We are not a non-interaction booking as anti or non-social guests makes our home space awkward.
Other things to note
No hidden washing/wifi/utility bills.
You're entering our home and sanctuary, and it is important that you know everything so that everyone has a great time.
Have fun and be nice!
Needless awkwardness can always be avoided when communication is employed.
If your expectations have been failed somewhere along the line,
communicate them with us and we'll attempt to remedy them amicably. We are always flexible to make sure everyone is happy. If you do not speak up and leave an average review, it's super uncool, as it impacts a source of income we depend on. Rather, simply let us know - whatever it is - and if worse comes to worse, we'll refund you half of the price of the booking and find you a more suitable arrangement at our own loss. We've only ever had to do this once, and it's because this listing was not read.
Remember that we live here, too, and are most times a fairly social couple. You're not expected to hide in the guest's room, though we do respect and understand privacy.
In a sense, we're expecting people to have common sense when it comes to staying in another person's home. Hiding in the room over a weekend (assuming we're home) translates into awkwardness for us, and we're not that kind of listing. For complete non-interaction with other people, you'd be better off with a hotel or an entire house booking. The room simply isn't big enough to hide in. Help yourself to the house!
This isn't a child-friendly house, which is why we generally don't accept children. If we've made an exception for you, it's your responsibility to proceed knowing that sharp corners or edges are present in our house and that we do not state anywhere that we are a child-friendly house.
No smoking inside the house. Vaping is allowed inside. There's a smoking area out the back or anywhere on the 180-degreee verandah.
We live here, too, and love our surroundings. We ask our guests to treat the house respectfully as if it were their home, too - assuming that they treat their homes respectfully.
Please do not use the washing machine after 8 p.m unless it's holidays and it's obvious that it isn't an issue. If it's not obvious, it's probably an issue.
On weeknights, please try to keep the noise down after 11 p.m unless we're on holidays or it's appropriate, which will be made obvious circumstantially.
Weekends, you can party until your heart is content. Just don't break anything and be respectful. We can manage noise as long as you're not being disrespectful.
You're a paying customer, and you're allowed certain liberties that may conflict with our own comforts and we're fine with that. You, while you're here, are the priority, and will be treated as such. Please don't abuse that fact. It's not nice.
You are responsible for any breaks that you make. Pay for them, please don't make us ask.
Have an amazing time. Be excellent to each other, or to us. Help yourself to anything other than our room. Ask for anything you're unsure of, and don't be afraid to feel completely at home.
While you're here, this is your home, too.
My name is Tony, and I host a room in Katoomba: The Blue Mountains, in the lovely house my beautiful fiance Tania and I, own.
We're both creative types that appreciate things like photography, art, horses (Tania owns a thoroughbred), Star Trek, online gaming, eclectic music, crazy adventures or just a bit of quiet time at home over a few wines.
By trade, I'm an ex I.T consultant turned full-time internet streamer ( variety gaming and commentary). Tania, a media and marketing executive whose talents lay in graphic design, branding, artistry, horse training and being an amazing, compassionate human being.
We're both ex-city people who decided a tree change needed to happen, and we've never looked back.
We've both also worked in the hospitality industry as a labour of love outside of work or during our career breaks over the years, and enjoy being legends when it comes to hosting, service or just being friendly and sociable, approachable people.
We've both poured beers, served food and mixed drinks for hundreds and thousands of people over the years, and I think this translates well into our hosting setting. In other words, we enjoy making others happy.
As for Airbnb; having just purchased our first home in Katoomba, I wanted to share our lovely space out to budding tourists and locals who might be after a change of scenery. In doing so, I wanted to enter the AirBNB market with a unique offering at a comparatively inexpensive price.
We think hosting and actually going that extra mile for guests is what AirBnB is supposed to be about, and we believe we've succeeded in that effort so far.
We do believe our home offers a lot, and we think we're the kinds of people that enable guests from all walks of life to know they don't have to worry about judgments, prejudices, bias or anything else of that nature while they're here with us.
All races, cultures, genders, interests and peoples are welcome in our home, just as long as they're respectful, and just as long as they always remember that we live here, too.
We don't iron bed sheets and ensure your room smells like a hospital because that's not the environment we provide. We set up your room the same we would if family or friends were visiting, and that's precisely how you'll be treated during your stay, provided either of us are home.
In short, I think you'll find that we're pretty outgoing, easy to get along with folks, and sharing a few wines or beers over dinner is never off the cards. In fact, many times it's encouraged!
We truly look forward to meeting **friendly**, new and interesting people, and hope you have a memorable stay with us.
