Fairways is situated close to the medieval city of Kilkenny, now world-famous for its festivals. Here you will find award-winning bars and restaurants alongside the many cultural and historical attractions. In the surrounding countryside there is plentiful walking to be done, and this county is also popular with golfers of all abilities.
In our house we offer you a warm welcome, comfy rooms and a tasty continental breakfast - we're a peaceful haven on your trip to Ireland's Ancient East.
Fairways was built ten years ago with guests in mind - that's why you'll find the bedroom we offer is spacious and welcoming, with a power shower in the well-equipped bathroom. We're a little off the beaten track, so the house has plenty of peace and privacy, while only being a few miles from the vibrant city of Kilkenny.
Our offer includes a continental breakfast with fruits, yoghurt, cereal, home made bread and jam (variety depending on the season) and you can help yourself to tea and coffee at any time in the dining room. If you're lucky there'll be one of Geraldine's home made cakes! There is a TV in your room and you are free to use our wifi too. Our little labrador Gracie will probably say hello at one point - she's friendly, but she'll keep her distance.
We have another double twin/bedroom on offer on AirBnB too, so if there are more than two of you please ask whether you can book together.
The bedroom has twin beds, so is suitable for couples or friends travelling together. As well as a ensuite toilet/shower room, the bedroom has a TV, hairdryer and ample storage.
A continental breakfast will be offered in the dining room, where guests can also relax and use the tea and coffee making facilities at any time. And, weather permitting, we invite guests to make use of our garden.
Interaction with guests
Happy to chat to guests and offer advice on local attractions. I'm a keen golfer, so I'm always happy to suggest local courses; we can also suggest walks in the area, as well as attractions in the city and beyond.
- No noise after 11pm please - hosts need their beauty sleep
Originally from England, I have lived in Ireland with my partner Geraldine for the last ten years. I'm a keen golfer and can advise on the many glorious golf courses within the county. Geraldine (who is a native of Kilkenny) and I have also eaten at a number of the cafes, bars and restaurants in the city and are happy to make recommendations, as well as local attractions to suit your interests.
