Welcome to Historic Harlem, famous for live jazz music (Bill's Place, Chez Lucienne, The Shrine world music venue), delicious food (Red Rooster, Yatenga Restaurant, Abyssinia Ethiopian), gospel singing on Sundays, gorgeous brownstone architecture, and friendly people who will wish you a Happy Holidays as they pass you on the street.
Close to the 135th St stations of the B/C and 2/3 metro (gets you downtown in 20 minutes). My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, and business travelers.

The space

This apartment is HUGE by New York standards (2 beds, 2 baths, with a massive living room in between). Why stay in a shoebox when you can relax in a home? Spacious enough to add a blow-up mattress or bring your own crib. You have your own private ensuite bathroom with bathtub, nice for relaxing after a long day of site-seeing. You can make use of the full kitchen (refrigerator, stove, dishware, pots/pans, etc) and large living room. This is a 4th floor walk-up, putting you high above the street, with a tree-top view and lots of light.
Excellent coffeeshop just down the block to get your site-seeing or business meeting day started.

Guest access

You have access to all spaces except my roommate's bedroom and bathroom on the far end of the apartment.

My stay at Elisa 's place was very nice. The room is HUGE, clean and comes with its own bathroom, which is an additional plus . Also, it is really close to public transportation and about 30 minutes away from Midtown. Elisa was very friendly and made me feel welcome .

Elisa was great. We needed to book very last minute and she went out of her way to make sure everything was ready the next morning for us. She even got her hands on a blow up mattress for us! She was very welcoming and made us feel at home. The space is exactly as seen in the pictures, and was clean. Two of our days there were VERY hot, so the east facing windows made it hard to sleep past 7, since there is no air conditioning. The apartment being the 4th floor also doesn't help. At the end of the day it really just kept us out and about the city, which was a good nudge. We had full access to the kitchen, complete with anything you may need to cook a meal.

Glad you had a great stay, Richard. It was lovely meeting you! And eek, I had no idea the temps would suddenly shoot up so high (it's dropped back down to the 60 degrees it's been all of May)! There is A.C. for the room but I store it in the closet til summer. Glad that you were able to turn this into exploration inspiration!

The place is quite large and yet felt cozy as well. Elisa was great in helping us get settled in and letting us know what there is to do in the area for dining, bars, and coffee shops. The street below can be a little noisy sometimes (it's in the city after all) but you get used to it quickly (one of the windows wasn't closed all the way so that didn't help). Great place to stay and would stay here again if we're in the area.
