Sarah and Julie are welcoming hosts and it is a lovely apartment but NOT the place for you if you plan on exploring the city at night. House rules say “please respect quiet hours 12am-7am” however this was not the case, there was a very strict 12am curfew, if not home by then you have to stay out until 7:30am. We wanted to see the city and ended up coming home after 12am, so ended up having to find somewhere to go until we could let ourselves in. After this incident we ended up checking into another hotel as we didn’t want to have to stay out till 7;30 every morning. We were unable to get a refund for the nights we didn’t stay. We wish this was clearer in the house rules as we would have chosen somewhere else if we had known. This place is well suited to someone who likes an early night or who is there for a quick overnight stay :)

Julie and Sarah are friendly and easy going hosts, who make you feel at home, as do their very laid back cats! Location is great for the subway, room and bed good for a stay of 4 nights. I didn't need to make drinks etc., was out of the house from first thing until late evening so didn't use their facilities other than the bathroom, which was fine.

If you are looking for good value accommodation in Brooklyn this is a really good option. The room had everything I needed and the shower pressure was amazing, like a hotel! Great hosts who answered any questions I had promptly, and the cats were very friendly which made it feel nice and homely too!

Great hosts, always quick to respond and friendly when I asked questions. There's also a bus stop, subway station, and drugstore nearby so I found the location pretty convenient. Had a great stay :)

Julie and Sarah are fantastic hosts. Felt like staying with friends from day one! The room is tidy and comfortable, I had a great and much needed (considering the jet lag) sleep at night. The cats are adorable, and very friendly. And I loved the location, was very convenient both for walking and using a subway. I would highly recommend staying with J&S.

Julie's place is amazing! It is well located in the neighborhood of Bed Stuy. They were very communicative and helpful on my stay there. If you love cats, then you will love to stay in this place with their two lovely cats.

Hi There!
I'm Julie, I speak Russian and grew up in Brooklyn. I've just returned after living in Toronto, Canada for a year! I'm very social and am passionate about food & spirits. Please ask me to recommend a restaurant or a bar and you won't be disappointed. I love to write, ride my bike, and enjoy sunsets on NYC rooftops. My partner and I share our awesome apartment with two cats. My favorite thing about living in NYC are the bodega breakfasts (egg & cheese on a bagel) which are also sometimes dinner, and middle of the night snacks. Also, Trader Joe's!
I'm a pretty laid back person, I'm tidy, and I like to organize things as if I'm playing Tetris.
