We ended up cancelling our reservation after arriving and finding the apartment not as we expected. We were given a full refund after having difficulty communicating with Arnaud and his girlfriend. The location was close to the beach.

We stayed for 2 day at Arnauds apartment. His apartment is very good located in Oostende, about 5-10minutes from the beach and a few minutes to the city and to all shopping streets. The apartement is really nice with a very cool view to the street from the living room. It had also a little balcony. The bed was very comfortable and Jenny introduced us very nice at the Apartment. I can really recommend to stay here and enjoy city of Oostende

Wow! I had a great stay at Arnaud and Jenny's place in Oostende. They were super helpful with the key situation as I was late in arriving and unable to notify them, yet they gave me excellent instructions on how to reach them etc. Yes, the stairs are very steep, narrow and winding so make sure that you are able to carry your bags easily. As I was there by myself I found the hot water to be more than sufficient. I had no issues with the bathroom or moisture anywhere, basically no issues whatsoever. I love the Air BnB community! Being a host myself I know that being an Air BnB host is not an easy job, Arnaud and Jenny are really great hosts! When I walked into the apartment I instantly felt at ease with how clean everything was, beautiful light coming through the window and quite spacious. The kitchen had just about everything you could need for cooking in, there is also a door that opens to the outside so the air can flow freely through the whole apartment. I had mentioned to Arnoud that I was at a conference at the Sea Palace and he came outside with me to show me how to get there through the park. And what a nice walk it was! This park basically one block away has nice areas to sit, to walk, a beautiful fountain in a pond with a bridge and a gazebo and over the weekend there was a food festival. There is a lot of good food in Oostende. During my 14 days there I probably went out to eat at least 10 times and I can't wait to come back again to try more places. Two of my favorite places were Jilles Burgers where they have 4 different types of veggie burgers! Very exciting for vegetarians. The Champs Elisey (please excuse my spelling if incorrect) was also really good and accommodating the classic Belgian asparagus dish was excellent. The proximity of Arnaud and Jenny's place to the train station was also a plus. When I asked Jenny what was the best way to get a taxi to the train station she explained really clearly how to walk there in about 5 minutes. So it was easy with my little rolling suitcase to just walk there. Jenny also showed me an excellent chocolate shop. I was looking for some gifts to bring home, and ran into Jenny on her way to work and she showed me this place called Moeder Babelutte on the shopping street that not only makes excellent chocolate but also this amazing hard butter candy that Oostende is famous for. Basically everything you could need or want is close by, one of my shoes broke and I was able to get it fixed while waiting at Mister Minit, I got my dry cleaning done at Perfect Shop, was able to find several good organic grocery stores and more. All in, staying at Arnaud...

quiet, yet close to lively places, 8 minutes walk to the railway station or a supermarket, 5 minutes away from shopping streets, 10 minutes to the shore, park close by it was nice to have all those this close the apartment is cozy, well split, maybe too small of a bathroom and the stairs were a bit difficult to climb but hey, all the houses seem to be narrow in holand :)

We stayed in Arnaud's apartment for 6 weeks. It was myself, wife and 2 year old daughter. Here are our observations of our stay in the Oostende apartment: Kitchen: Arnaud provides his guests with limited kitchen utensils. We were short a few items for us all to eat together. There is a stove, microwave, oven, and a coffee maker with filters, cream and sugar. The space is efficient (small). Bedroom: There is a big comfortable bed. A nice big closet we used during our stay. You cannot close the bedroom door during the night otherwise the walls sweat (eventually mold). We had mold on the walls twice during our stay even following Arnaud's instructions to open the windows at least once a day. He cleaned up the first mold. The second occurrence was at the end of our stay. While we visited Arnaud added night stand lamps which was nice. Bathroom: The bathroom is extremely tight. There is a medicine cabinet for you to store your toiletries during your stay. Take quick showers! With two adults during our stay we had to stagger (at least an hour in between) our showers because the hot water ran out after one quick shower. Arnaud shares with his guest to leave the internal ventilation window open to help with humidity, but the consequence of that is the neighbor below who smokes relentlessly. We instead opened the exterior windows to ventilate the humidity. We had to shut the interior ventilation window during our stay because the smell was intolerable even with a wax warmer, candles, room spray, and Febreeze. Airbnb provided a reimbursement for us to purchase an air purifier which eliminated this problem. Location: The apartment is located near the shopping district. We enjoyed going to the Christmas festivities nearby. A grocery store is about a 10-15 minute walk from the apartment. The train station is also about 10-15 minutes by foot. If you plan on driving to the apartment parking is not always available. You must use the pay meters until 7 PM. After 7 it is free until 9 AM the next morning. You can park for free without restrictions in city parking but it is about a 20 minute walk to the apartment. Ascetics: There is a lot left to be desired in the apartment. There is nothing on the walls or any decor. When you stay for 6 weeks it can get dismal. The light fixture in the hallway and kitchen were lacking their glass shade. A tile at the base of the shower was broken on our arrival and was neglected to be repaired. Underneath of the couch was appallingly filthy (we cleaned underneath of it during our stay). The stairway from the exterior of the building to the apartment is not clean at all. The walls are filthy and a strange neon green color. €400 at IKEA could really liven the apartment. Comfort: This is not a space for young children. There are double doors at the...
