About this listing

A spacious 1920s studio built at the bottom of the Hollywood Hills. It is walking distance to Hollywood Bowl, Metro, Walk-of-Fame, Chinese Theater and an easy drive to Universal Studios. The Bungalow has a tropical vibe steeped in a 1920s Hollywood feel. It's rumored that Bette Midler and Marilyn lived in these studios as struggling artists. You'll get that old Hollywood artistry in this spacious 1920s studio. Good for couples, solo adventurers, business travelers, and furry friends (pets).

The space

The studio is spacious. It's sectioned off in a way to make it feel like there is a living room section, an area for business, and an area for sleep. There is both a front of back door that lead directly to the great outdoors rather than into a stuffy hallway. This place feels like your very own private get away.

Guest access

Guess has access to full kitchen, full bath, TV via (URL HIDDEN) wifi. There are several fans available. Access to back through the kitchen. Please note there is access to several fans in the unit to use as our cooling /air flow system.

Interaction with guests

I'll be available via text or e-mail. I also have out several maps and details to locations near by. Address that you can visit via metro or uber. Best areas to have uber pick you up. As much as I can help remotely, I am there for you.

- My place allows pets. However, they must be taken off the proper to go to the bathroom. There is a park nearby, a 1 minute walk away. Please clean up after yourself. Dishes are open for use as well as the stove and rest of the kitchen. Internet is available was well as access to Comcast Online via what's been set up on the desk top that is available for guest use. You can of course have friends you know or met over! Larger parties won't work so well in this space but get togethers are great.
- I own a kitten that stays in the apartment when I am there. The place is very clean but please be aware if you have any pet allergies.
- You'll have access to a closet. As well as access to my books. Please just do not take them out of the apartment and treat them with respect.

Amanda is a friendly and helpful host, her place is really cute. However she needs to get it cleaned professionally. I found it dirty and not up to air bnb standard for its cost. However the location is great if you have to work at the Hollywood Bowl like I did. So lot of pros and a cons that can be easily sorted by getting a professional cleaner and clean cleaning products, bathroom carpet etc...

Response from Amanda:
This claim is a FALSE and was PROVEN FALSE by Air B N B. You posted a picture from another apartment. The flooring was ceramic with stained wood molding, none of which exist in my place. False claims can and will be persecuted for damages to the full extend of the law.

Nice cute place, close by everything. Only caveat is that the couch is pretty small. The place works with for 2 people. Anymore, it'll feel pretty tight.

Overall my experience was unfortunately the most uncomfortable trip I’ve had with AirBnB yet. The biggest thing for me was that there was nowhere mentioned in the ad that there was no air conditioning; not even a window unit. Summer time in Los Angeles is almost 90+ degrees. Anyone would assume there is at least a window unit in the house. In my eyes, air conditioning in those types of climates is a necessity and I would not have even looked farther at the ad if ‘No AC’ were added. I did not even stay there long enough for LA to hit it's peak heat during the day and I was already ready to leave. (checked in @ 10:00 PM Friday night, left the keys in the lock box at 12:30 PM Saturday) The location was a hip part of town, however you cannot expect guests to sleep with all of the windows and the back door open. Fenced with bars or not, I would not feel comfortable sleeping like that. With that being said, the weekends at that place are a zoo. I had contacted our host beforehand about parking and never got a response. Upon arrival, I had to pay $20.00 to park 0.2 miles from the AirBnB. After the first night, I felt so uncomfortable that I booked a hotel room the remainder of my vacation. I politely asked for a refund for the remaining nights that I did not stay because of the fact that I just had to spend an additional $300 on a hotel room. The keys were returned at 12:30 PM after the first night stayed, kindly asked for a refund for the second and third night and we were completely denied. I would understand different circumstances, however sometimes AirBnBs have problems like that and the host is extremely accommodating. Unfortunately this was not one of those experiences.

Response from Amanda:
Alexandra was given full details of anything she had in question prior to her stay. My responses were quick and speedy. She presumed that a window unit was available when it was not mentioned as an amenity. The only places in LA that come with AC units are either luxury apartments or apartments located in the valley. Regardless I tried working with her to help her become more comfortable in the location. The claim that she wrote to me about parking before her stay is false. I did receive a inquiry about parking, after she was checked out of my place and the stay was over. I would have happy answered any concerned she had in a timely manner, had they actually been presented timely. She claims she would check everything promised, but technology didn't. As she didn't do her research. The AD is honest and forthright. There were no traces of animal hair in the location. We had a professional come in to help make sure this area was clean. This is a lie and exaggeration on the part of the guest. There is one carpet in the place, in the kitchen under the sink to keep the floor dry. I highly doubt that a foot rug can be called dirty. The window panel was broken by the guest. I checked Netflix on my own personal account before I left as well as comcast, everything was streaming. The guest continued to look and make up issues in order to complain. That evening Netflix itself had an issue, this is not computer's fault but the the company itself. I also told both Alexandra and her boyfriend the admin password and gave them permission to download a flashdrive just in case and to be sure they were able to access things. In my opinion, I tried to be as accommodating as possible but it never satisfied this guest. This is only this guest second experience with Air BnB and maybe she's not familiar with using a local home verses a luxury hotel. I tried my best to appease her and her boyfriend even after waking up to my phone going off to over 11 aggressive and negative messages. She did not kindly ask for a refund, she threatened. This review is false and full or errors. It's not cool or okay.
