This tranquil fishing town is a great location for relaxing and enjoying its quiet waters. The waves that gently roll onto Puerto’s shore are protected by the Great Maya Reef, Mexico’s most recent addition to its National Parks and the second largest reef in the world. Just 2km from shore, the Great Maya Reef is a wonderful haven for magnificent fish and coral that can be explored by snorkeling or diving. This barrier also calms the waves making the beaches in Puerto Morelos ideal for families.

Puerto Morelos is located half way between Cancun and Playa del Carmen on highway 307 of Quintana Roo, Mexico, and just 25 minutes away to the south from the International airport of Cancun. It is considered the gate to the Riviera Maya and here you can find local life mixed with foreign tourism. One hundred meters off the shore lies the Mesoamerican Barrier Reef System, designated as a National Marine Park.

With my family we live in Puerto Morelos, the Riviera Maya for more than 35 years, is a beautiful and quiet place, ideal for visiting and living with nature. It is beautiful for its beaches, natural reef, cenotes route, and mangroves. An excellent place to rest or vacation with the family. In addition to being very close to tourist places such as Cancun, Playa del Carmen, Tulum, Chichen Itza, and theme parks such as Xcaret, Xelha, Xplore, among others.
