Come enjoy country living in our 1830s post and beam farmhouse on 18 acres of field, pond and forest. Wander the property, then relax and take in the view from the back porch, or retire to your cozy, comfortable bedroom with queen bed and separate sitting area.

The space

The sprawling property has many lovely nooks and crannies: an overgrown orchard, gorgeous old barn, vegetable and herb gardens. Join us for a bonfire in the firepit, or follow the path down to the spring-fed pond and you can listen to the bullfrogs, or visit the island where our wild goose friend returns every year to hatch her eggs.

You'll have access to the kitchen, dining room, beautiful back porch, tv/sitting room and spacious washroom.

We're located one hour east of Toronto, across the road from 11,000 acres of trails in the Ganaraska Forest, 10 minutes from Mosport Speedway, and you can see the Oshawa Ski Club's hills from our back porch.

Guest access

Please see our separate listing for the pretty Victorian cottage that overlooks the pond.

Interaction with guests

A full organic breakfast is included with your stay. Vegetarian options are available.

Dinner Packages: please join us in our new Scandinavian grill house for a delicious dinner on the open-flame barbecue. Relax in this pine cabin in the woods while lounging on reindeer pelts. $125 covers dinner for two.

Janie & John are kind, thoughtful and lots of fun. I went there as a mini vacation to recharge and it was exactly what I needed. They were there to chat with me in the mornings and still give me the space to embrace the peacefulness of the country life. I'm so grateful that I had the opportunity to spend a few days here. I'm looking forward to repeating the visit.

My husband and I stayed one night at Janie and John's place...wish had more time to stay an extra 2 nights. Janie and John are very friendly and easy to communicate with. Their home and property is beautiful !! The bed was very comfortable, which is always important to me and my husband. We both slept well. Very quiet and peaceful setting out in the countryside. In the morning I spent over an hour strolling around their property and taking pictures of the gardens, countryside and lovely old barn. Bonus was that was accompanied by both of their very friendly cats Breakfast was served to us on the porch, which over looks the gardens and rolling hills. Breakfast was delicious and filling. We enjoyed our morning conversations with John and Janie on the porch. After breakfast we walked back to the gypsy caravan and John's latest project....then down to the Victorian cottage and reindeer hut and the pond. The trails, property and everything about it was wonderful. We have traveled a lot and go to many BnBs, this one has top our most favorite list. We look forward to going back. As you can see from my review, I would highly recommend this BnB! Thank you for lovely experience

This is such an amazing, unique place. The hosts are very welcoming and will accommodate you the best they can. Very wonderful strolling the grounds and experiencing all the amazing features - including pond, mini-island, forest and cabin in the woods. Highly recommended for a weekend to get away from the realities of everyday.

We had a lovely stay at Janie and John's place. Such a treat to wake up and have a beautiful, yummy breakfast overlooking the rolling hills. A piece of paradise indeed. It was the perfect location for our journey between Oro-medonte and Prince Edward County. Would definitely return!

It was a pleasure staying at Janie & Johns place. They were extremely welcoming & made my stay there very homey! They place is very charming, a great place to call home, for a night or for many. Stay here, you will not be disappointed, especially with the delicious breakie in the morning. If I'm back in the area, I will stay here again, without second thought. :-)

My husband John and I have lived on the farm for the last thirty years, and we've been hosting guests at our B&B for a decade now.
