Dalavich is an amazing place to stay if you are looking for a quiet secluded location. Really nice lodge with great views over the lock. Some great walks nearby and good breakfasts at the local village store. Some nice towns nearby and great beaches if you travel south. Thoroughly recommended lodge and location.

Had a wonderful 3 night stay here. Barbara has a beautiful cabin, so cosy and quaint. The hot tub was fantastic and really clean. The location is seriously remote, the nearest town is Oban which is almost an hours drive. The community has a small shop and cute little cafe which were both helpful, as well as a bar and bistro. The cabin and the surroundings were fantastic. We didnt actually have much communication with the host, instead with her neighbours which wasn't a problem. Both check in and check out were straight forward. Would definitely recommend if your looking for a relaxing trip away.

Lovely woodland cabin with great views, plenty of space inside and out. Private driveway and parking. Furniture was adequate and comfortable. Hot Tub was excellent and a bit of a god send really as it rained (heavily) from day one. Sitting in it at night and gazing at the stars was the highlight of the trip.

Fantastic wee space in a stunningly beautiful area. We took our 10 month old and 4 adults and had a great time. Even in bad weather the hot tub was glorious, beautiful walks nearby and attractions a short drive away. We will definitely be back.

I'll try to keep this short and simple. We were really looking forward to this getaway, in the middle of nowhere, the hot tab, beautiful nature around - just a couple of friends in a great place. What we found was the opposite: We reached, entered - the cabin was increadibly smelly, very humid inside. The beds had not been made and thus we could see which state the pillows and blankets were in: an uncountable number of blood stains, something that looked like red wine and undefinable other marks. We preferred not to use them and take our sleeping bags - it was just disgusting. The next thing you know: You want to make yourself a cup of tea and what do you find? Coffee marks in the "fresh" cup taken from the cupboard. Same same but different - the glasses, still sticky from juice or whatever, were even sticking to the shelve they sat on. The list is long - food leftovers underneath the sofa, dirty cutlery, a full ash tray on the terrace... Too much to mention it all. We complained to the owner about it and the next thing we see is the key holder standing in front of the door telling us off we were lying. What we have to mention positively: We were initially planning to just come in 4, in the end two other friends wanted to join and the owner was spontaneous enough to allow that without any problems. HOWEVER, even though the cabin is offered as accomodation for 6, it is really not equipped for that many people. Plus it is really much smaller than the pictures show! The so-called double room upstairs does not even have a door and is basically just a tiny double bed. Furthermore, there are just 4 chairs in the place - so you can't even eat alltogether. Out of the 4 chairs on the terrace (obviously wet, it's Scotland :) one chair was broken, not usable. The stand for the sun umbrella - also broken. Not usable. The umbrella itself twisted - not usable. All in all - this is the worst place I have ever stayed in. Considering the fact that in high season we paid 164GBP/night it is also the most expensive one I have ever stayed in through Airbnb AND it is clearly NOT WORTH IT.
